Best airport with access to... by John Smith
Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium? It looks like Alleghany County/KAGC. Any recommendation on FBO would also be helpful. Same questions for the Buffalo (NY) Zoo. I might try to do both in one day. Pitt in the morning, Buff in the afternoon.

Newsgroup troubles all over, FYI... by walking
The topic of this post is the harassment of this news group, and others; and the U.S. in general. Apologies for it not being directly related to piloting aircraft. I have tried to keep this brief. Want to know why this news group is being slapped repeatedly? Here is my conjecture... It is...

Death & Destruction is Coming. by walking
To New York and Los Angeles, San Francisco; even Jerusalem and its memorials. Spots in the U.K. And Chicago, Florida and the CIA. West Hollywood, Australia. And other places; Tennesseee, Texas, to its border. They are queer targets. These are all planned; nuclear devices in a number of cases....

For the real engineers here by [email protected]
I'm thinking of a clean glider, one that might weigh 1500 pounds and has a glide angle of say 1 in 25. At 50 miles an hour, that would mean in an hour's time it might descend two miles (of course scale it reasonable numbers, I chose those for ease of calculation). That means it's losing about 1500...

Historical NOTAMs by Mxsmanic
Today I was a bit curious about what NOTAMs were issued when Mount Saint Helens exploded in Washington back in 1980. Is there a place on the Web where very old NOTAMs can be looked up (for free)?

Passed an Eclipse jet yesterday by Mike[_22_]
Flying opposite direction, of course. I was flying on the Dallas side of the metroplex not too far from KADS. The TRACON called out the traffic and the plane was so small and moving so fast it was impossible to see until we were quite close. We passed about 1 mile or less off each other's...

While I have mixed feelings about the current run-up in automobile and aviation fuel prices, I can see where increased fuel costs are going to significantly impact recreational GA flying operations. The high price of maintaining flying currency for private pilots has always been a deterrent to...
