Narco com 11A help please by
WhiteKnuckles
Hi All,
I bought the above radio on Ebay for the ultralight that I am building.
Anyway, I'm hoping that I didn't do anything dumb in choosing this older
radio. I didn't receive any pin out information from the guy that sold it to
me, and I'm assuming that he just plugged a newer set into the...

Lancair 320 flight test by
Rick Pellicciotti
I will be doing the first flight and most of the flight test period on a
friend's new Lancair 320. I would appreciate hearing from others that
have done flight tests on this make and model airplane. I would also
like to have copies of your flight test cards to review before I make up
my own...

Looking for sand paper rolls and adhesive by
Roger Halstead
Where in the devil can I find sand paper long enough to use on my 4
foot long block sander? That and the adhesive for applying it.
I've been resorting to using shorter pieces and self stick adhesive
but I really don't like using 4 pieces of sandpaper.
I have a small bottle of the "self stick"...

When trailers go bad OR How not to tow your Wright Brothers machine by
wright1902glider
In my last post, I mentioned that I was curently off the airshow circut
for a number of reasons. Greatest of which is the issue with the
homebuilt trailer that formerly hauled my plane and equipment. Well,
for those of you that havn't heard this before, here's the whole story.
The trailer was...

Rotax 912 Full Throttle Springs by
Mark Callahan
I have recently acquired a Sea Rey equipped with the Rotax 912S
engine. While familiarizing myself with the carburetor synchronization
procedure, I noticed that the springs that open the throttle in the
event of a throttle cable disconnect appear to be backwards. The
documentation indicates that...

For Jim Weir: Transponder Installation by
Ron Wanttaja
Hey, Jim, I've bought a Microair T2000 to replace the bum transponder in my
Fly Baby. A couple of questions:
1. The instructions say not to install the antenna within one meter of the
unit. What's the limiting factor here? I always prefer short cable runs,
and had a nice spot picked out 15 or...

The Home-made Home-builders Engine by
Veeduber[_2_]
To All:
For those of us who own a lathe and milling machine, somewhere in our
past there is probably a tiny steam engine. Indeed, there's probably
more than than one. A company in England provides the basic castings
as a kit. As the machinist, you are expected to provide all else,
from the...

Why no plywood monocoque homebuilts? by
[email protected]
Howdy,
After reading a bit about the early Lockheed Vega, the Focker Albatross
DIII and the Dehavilland Mosquito I was a bit suprised that plywood
monocoque construction hasn't been used in any more modern airplanes.
(Or at least none that I can think of) What gives? Is it cheaper to use
glass...

An odd thing about CAD... by
[email protected]
(aside from blank messages :-)
I use DeltaCAD, a simple 2D replacement for the traditional T-square
and triangles, to make patterns for parts, from a 56" rib to itty-bitty
things for home-made clocks, tiny steam engines and similar stuff. And
I talk about it, too. If you hope to share...

Carbon fiber vs. antennas by
Jim Weir
Yes, I got results on the carbon fiber and I would have SWORN that I posted them
to this site.
Putting a GPS antenna UNDER a small bowl-shaped carbon fiber radome immediately
killed any GPS signal into a 27 dB gain active antenna INCLUDING satellites that
were directly overhead.
Figuring that the...
