Crankshaft balance by
abripl
Its not much flying time around here in SD with temps averaging 0F.
I got my engine (Franklin 6) apart trying to cure a vibration problem
(0.4 IPS) - not extreme but anoying. Is it OK to balance the crank in a
automobile machine shop or are there some tricky things about aircraft
cranks? I know...

Carbon Fiber Layup - Conformal Peel Ply? by
RKT
I am doing wet layup in a covoluted mold using "porous teflon coated glass
peel-ply" between the lamnate and the breather. The peel-ply material is not
at all conformal and the pleats/overlaps are interfering with resin takeup.
Is there any other POROUS peel-ply material that is more conformal,...

Pitts Special Steel Tube Fuse Mod. by
Martin Morgan

would require moving the tube at the top of the seat back, back about
2". This member is 3/4 x 0.035 and about 22" long.
I was thinking to run 4" long gussets back to the original attachment
point, creating a C shaped...

Air Conditioning System for Homebuilts? by
JPAviation
Hi,
Here is a new design challenge for those of you with homebuilts with all the
bells and whistles.
The 2004 Toyota Prius hybrid car has a Denso electrically powered air
conditioning compressor that apparently does not need to be mounted on the
engine. This offers the possibility of reasonably...

want variable pitch prop by
Ray Toews
I bought a Jodel an old F11 built in 65 with 1200 hrs on it, from
what I have seen so far it looks good, rugged built.
Needs lots of tinkering, has bolts and screws sticking out everywhere
but we'll fix that, O290 lycoming really wants a variable pitch prop,
allready has a Manifold presure...
