KLN-90B by [email protected]
I am considering KLN-90B as replacement for my M-3 Approach. Question for experienced KLN-90B users: Legality aside, can you operate KLN-90B in approach mode (doing GPS approaches) with an outdated database? Thanks in advance, Robin Hou

Landing KJAN with ATC Communications - Video by A Lieberma[_2_]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4Ccc0lWMis First crack at this. Comments most welcomed here or on the video to improving these type of videos. Still want to work on the sound levels to simulate the actual sound levels. Engine level a touch lower then in the actual plane. Minor balancing act

Can hydraulic lifters cause inadequate full power? by [email protected]
Hey all. I posted a week or so ago about low power in my Cherokee, but the signal-to-noise ratio was low with all the things we've tried in the past. We're basically at the point of asking if mismatched hydraulic lifters could cause chronic low power. The overhaul was done before we bought the...

Flight to Bennington VT (KDDH) by Kobra[_5_]
Let me make apologies early...this is just some footage from a quick flight my wife and I took to Bennington, VT last week. It's not refined and was shot impromto with little to no forethought. For what it's worth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kfglGM8BaI Gene

Anyone doing a recovering project? by Lou
I'm looking for a piece of used fabric. As strange as this may sound, I want to study it. If anyone has a piece from 14"x14" to 16x16 (or there abouts) could you contact me? I'm curious about how this stuff works. Lou

Too Old? by Gezellig
Recently a 72 yo went blind in flight (stroke?) and safely landed in the drink in FL. Several comments were that age should be considered in keeping your PPL. I can see this makes sense /but/ it would prolly be illegal. Too old? If so, at what age do you place the cutoff?

PA-28-180 Low power query by [email protected]
Hey all. As some of you may recall, about a year ago I posted a question regarding two different power loss issues I was having with my PA-28-140 with an O-360-A4A 180hp upgraded engine. I'll summarize what's transpired and figure to get some opinions on what I might try next. Basically, I...

How to Remove Piston from Cylinder by Paul Dow (Remove Caps in mail address)
A member of our EAA chapter has a cylinder from a Franklin 150 engine (off the engine.) The piston was pushed too far up and the top ring sprung out so it now overlaps the cylinder sleeve which locks the piston in place. Does anyone have a technique to get the piston out? Preferably while...

Overhaul !!!!! ?????? by Charles Talleyrand
My local mechanic says that I need to overhaul my engine. It's got 1200 hours but it's been 27 years since the last overhaul. He's worried about the age, and he hears "piston slap" when he runs the engine. Compression and oil analysis are fine. He is well respected around the local airport. He...
