CAT IIIC minimums by
Andrey Serbinenko
A question: the landing minimums section for ILS CAT-III approaches
may have separate lines for A, B, and C. In some cases the C line
has an "NA" for visibility, and on some other plates the whole C
line is missing. So, what's the difference? Does "NA" mean "not
authorized", i.e. CAT-IIIC cannot be...

CBAV - anyone having problems displaying Nexrad? by
Maule Driver
The last 2 times (yesterday and 1 week ago) I've tried to used CBAV to get
Nexrad images, I get a blank screeen with the word "display" on it.
Anyone have this problem recently? Is there a problem?

CBAV and Palmnet by
Maule Driver
So is CBAV Nexrad offline for good?
Seems like I saw something saying that Palmnet is gone at the end of August
but I can't verify.
Any info or links appreciated.
(Sorry if this has been discussed - I've been offline for 2 weeks and can't
seem to find any archive info)

Center vs. Approach Altitudes by
Joseph D. Farrell
Hello - I have been looking in the AIM and a few other places and am
trying to track down where enroute approach control end and Center
control altitudes begin. When planning arrivals and depatures through
NYC/DC/PHL and BOS airspace I was curious where those altitudes begin.
I've been told...

Cessna 182T w. G-1000 pirep by
C J Campbell
OK, I know I said I would not get to fly this plane until tomorrow, but it
arrived early and so I took a flight. This is a new turbocharged Cessna
T182T.
For those that have not seen the 182T (either turbo or normal, introduced
last year), you might be a little startled the first time you take a...

CFI logging instrument time by
Barry
A CFI with airplane single-engine rating but not instrument-airplane (not a
CFII) gives flight instruction to a private pilot. Part of the flight is in
the clouds, with the private pilot flying. Can the CFI log instrument time
under FAR 61.51(g)(2):
"An authorized instructor may log instrument...

Can anyone point me to an oral exam guide (internet preferred) for the
CFII? I see lots of stuff for IR but no one seems to publish anything
for the CFII specifically. Looking for specific questions on teaching
techniques.

CFII question for Approach Gurus by

I had a surprise reaction from approach controller while entering the

I was doing a final pre-checkride lesson, and about 25 NW of UCP. In
IMC, assigned heading 250 at 4000. I expected the next word would be

CFII signoff needed, Dallas by

I'm considering taking one of the intensive instrument rating courses,
most of which have a prerequisite of having completed the knowledge exam.
Accordingly, I've been working on that on my own.
Is there a CFII around who is willing to give me an endorsement to take
the test, preferably just on my...

Folks !
I am planning to start my IFR training and wanted to get

IP Trainer 6.5 which supports the USB Yoke. Unfortunately
in my demo runs I find the Software to be too senstive to Yoke

Challenging instrument approaches? by
[email protected]
I'm looking for challenging instrument approaches in the United States
that I can have my students fly on the simulator.
I'd be interested in hearing your suggestions. Any type of IAP is
welcome as long as it makes the pilot work a little bit.
