Plans Biplane by
David Findlay
I'm looking for a plans built aircraft that is mostly steel tube and fabric
skin biplane. Two seats and amphibious floats. Can anyone point me to such
an aircraft? Also is there a good directory somewhere of available plans?
Thanks,
David

Is there a problem with rah? by

For the past several days I have only been averaging about 1 to 5
messages per day. That's way down from normal! I mean, there are
usually that many from Juan alone...anybody else seeing this problem?

North Aire floats. by
Fortunat1
Anyone have experience with these? Wag Aero are selling plans for these
still. Anyone know of their history? were they always a homebuilt design?
Are they compartmentalised like Edos? Performance? ease of building,
expense?
TIA!

FAA MAY TAKE AWAY PANEL-MOUNT OPTION FOR PORTABLE GPS by

FAA MAY TAKE AWAY PANEL-MOUNT OPTION FOR PORTABLE GPS
Think your portable GPS would work great mounted to your old Cessna 172's
instrument panel? If the FAA has its way, you won't be able to mount it. The
parts-panel dock and connective wiring-needed to mount your portable GPS
would...

Trying to select a propeller? by
Rob Turk
I'm looking for a good prop to fit my Rans S6S w. Jabiru 3300 engine. So far
two have failed to satisfy:
1. Wooden Jabiru J400 propeller, too easy to overrev the engine
2. 3-blade composite Warp drive, not enough cooling due to lack of airflow
near the hub
Candidates so far a

Flying Motorbike by
Malcolm Barnard
When I was a lad, in the early 1950's, I saw a magazine article about an
unusual aircraft.
It was a single place, low wing monoplane with a tricycle undercarriage and,
probably, a 60 to 80 h.p. motor. The odd thing is that it was ridden,
motorbike fashion by the pilot sitting astride behind a...

Test flight ballast ideas? by
[email protected]
Can anyone give me some ideas for temporary, but securable weight
ballasts? The situation is we're preparing for FAA required test
flights on our FIRST production aircraft. Weight will most likely need
to be positioned in the right seat area, and/or in the limited baggage
area behind the two...

Bose vs. Lightspeed by
jls
I finally got to try out Bose headsets. They were a phenomenon.
Utterly clear, crisp and unimpeded hearing on a cross-country from WNC
to Charleston, SC in a 182. Very positive impression of these $1000
miracles.
I have a poor set of Lightspeeds. When at their best they are great
too, but...

LSA CFI Airspace and Speed restrictions by

Hey guys,
I'm preparing to get LSA CFI but I had two more questions:
61.415 (f) states that: You may not provide training to operate a
light-sport aircraft in Class B, C, and D airspace, at an airport
located in Class B, C, or D airspace, and to, from, through, or at an

Painting Your Airplane in the Hangar? by
jls
I just saw a beautiful Lancair 320 painted in the hangar. It looks
great until you get up close. The polyurethane paint is very glossy,
but there is dust particles and trash all over it. Even a few insects
in the middle of our NC winter.
Not to worry, says the painter, who runs an autobody...

Wing walk ply question. by
Mustardbuilder
My plans don't give a lot of detail about my wing walk but it's for a truss
rib mostly wood wing. The walk is supposed to go from the front spar to the
trailing edge and should be 1/4 ply. my question is will a piece of 1/4 ply
bend around the curvature of the wing (Clark Y) or should I...
