L-Nav question for anyone still using one by akiley
I just started flying an ASW-19b at our club that has an L-Nav, GPS-NAV, Vario combo installed. When I turn the unit on, I get the barro page. I can set the altimeter here but the Go button does nothing. So I can't get to the main screen. Yesterday I gave up, left the L-Nav on. About 3 or 4...

TE Probe install? by [email protected]
I'd like to install a TE probe in the fin of my ASW 19. What angle should the prob receiver be installed at on the fin? It looks like most TE probes are installed so the probe is parallel to the horizontal stabilizer. Is there an optimal spot on the fin to install the TE probe? Thanks,

My arms are too short by [email protected]
Anybody got a better idea, I have to use plastic hose on my volume and channel selection knobs in order to reach them in flight in my D2. It works but I'd like something better? Its a good thing my sn-10 has a remote or I wouldn't be able to use it. Thanks Glen

And (wait for it...) media coverage... Yes, MEDIA COVERAGE. TV MEDIA COVERAGE!!! http://youtu.be/kRTYscB94sc Wow! We should be developing more Jr Pilots in the US and utilizing club class events as their training field. Perhaps donating gliders, etc. why doesn't the SSA have more funds...

Condor Logitech X3D Pro settings or driver by rkh986
Following suggestions in Soaring, I am trying to use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick with Condor 1.1.5 and Win 7. The control of sensitivity is not sufficient for success with the Flight Training turning exercise. Is there a Logitech driver needed, or is there a way of setting Condor Inputs...

LX v7 vario won't play audio sound by [email protected]
The audio function is stopped working mid flight. I went to the volume screen and adjusted the volume up all the way, still no sound. I then powered it off, back on, hoping to reset it with no luck. After I landed, I unplugged each wire going to the V7 and re plugged it back in. All connections...

Land Out Procedure by Mike McCarron[_2_]
It was mentioned during a talk Kai Gertsen gave at the Region 1 contest this year that it is a good idea to call 911 if you land your glider within sight of a road or other humans. The problem has been in the past that many times the glider outlanding is called in to the authorities as an airplane...

Sanding Glider Wing by [email protected]
I'm in the sanding phase of finishing my sailplane wings and I have a question about the technique for sanding the wing. I'm using a 44" sanding bar wtih 320 grit, using wet-sanding technique. My question is when sanding at a 45 degree angle to the chord line, are you supposed to keep the sanding...

I received this e-mail from my 16-year-old daughter who has been in Austria about 25 km south of St. Pölten for nine months on a high school exchange. Before she left soaring was just one of those things her strange dad did. Now it is cool. The short wing comment is because my previous plane was...

SolarCell Panel for gliders by Erik Bennekou
Hi I am looking for a solarcell panel for my LS1. Sometime ago (+6 mdr.), I did read about an extrem slim solarcell, witch was mounted on the back of a glider. Now, I can not find the information. Does anyone know technical informations, and/or where to buy slim- and effective solarcells?
