New Castle, VA Glider Contest Starts off with a Bang! by
Spam
Friends,
I had the good fortune of interviewing Mr. Lanier Frantz today. He
spoke on what a contest needs to get it going in the right direction.
Then demonstrated his sole responsibility at the contest.
A must see for all racing pilots and fans.
Sincerely,

RAS Qualified Instructor by
Tony[_5_]
Well I brought the Cherokee down to Littlefield, TX on Saturday hoping
for some good soaring. Ended up making it 2/3 around a 200 mile
triangle and most significantly got a 10,700 ft gain so my Gold Badge
should be complete after a little paperwork. Guess I'm alright to
start flying in the back...

The rudder waggle signal does not work by

Tow Rope Question by
James Anderson
Does your club/operation use anything on the tow rope to make it fly
higher after release and on landing? i.e. wiffle ball, plastic
funnel, etc? (if you use a funnel, what size, which way does it point
and where positioned on the rope?)
We currently use a wiffle ball but maybe some have a good /...

1986 Komet Trailer FS by
Gregg Leslie[_2_]
Hi guys,
I have a 1986 Komet trailer for sale in good condition although it has some
cosmetic issues that would take about 3 days to correct. It has stored in a
hanger the past few years. It had an Asw20 in it. The price goes up if I
fix
them. If your interested . NJ/NY

Grob 109 - Are hand controls available? by
YFCpilots
Does anyone out there know if hand controls are available for the Grob
109 Motorglider? Or if there are any motorgliders available with hand
operated rudder controls?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Soaring.aero by

I have started this thread to keep the soaring community informed of
soaring.aero developments.
I have been asked:
What is the purpose of soaring.aero?
The purpose of soaring.aero is to promote the sport of soaring.
While there are many soaring sites out there, many of them excellent, I

Best soaring - is there any doubt? by
Mitch
If you look at the OLC scores from yesterday (1 May) you will see 1050,
945, and 800 KM flights out of Moriarty NM on the first of May. The
Albuquerque Soaring club blows the competition away every year in the
OLC because of consistant year-round soaring with wave in the winter
and great thermals...

more than ten bucks for a magazine by

I've been tracking auctions for copies of Soaring Magazine for the past
few months. Something comes up for sale about once a week, which is
more than I would have expected for such a minor periodical. The
biggest surprise I have seen so far is the bidding war over a 1949
issue; the price went to...

Has anyone tried to run the old Cambridge software PocketNAV-CE3 on an

but only for sending tasks to and downloading flights from the
Cambridge GPS-NAV 20.
My Ipaq is a 3870 with Windows CE 3.0/pocketPC 2002 operating system
