MS and Saitek throttles ... and woes therein by Doc Tony
It's been many moons since I last posted in RAS but sparing all a long story which would place you in Z-Land forthwith as to the why of that, I 'rediscovered' my otherwise 10 year flight sim hobby and am getting back into it ... slowly but surely. Ditto, after this, rec.av.piloting because,...

What is a good desktop Simulaor? by angelo Campanella
History: Years ago, I had some nice experiences with FS5, sing a gameport, but I sought more pilot proficency realism. So I bought Jeppesen's Flight Pro 6.0, upgraded to 6.2, to get IFR practice. I got it to work about half the time using a Wingman Joystick on USB. It required the retail CD...

point in space placeholder by [email protected]
I'm looking for a way to go back to a particular point in space, kind of like a bookmark, in MS FSX. I know there has to be a way to do this. Fly to a certain point, hit CTRL+ALT+Z, or whatever and have it remember where you were. Then you could hit CTRL+ALT+X, or whatever and go back to this...

Train Simulators by Dave Schwartz
After trying MS Train Simulator and being so thoroughly disappointed with it, I haven't been into Train simming for a while. But it caught my interest again and thought I would give it a try again. It seems that Trainz is the current state of the art sim. But surfing around, I see that there...

FSX: G1000 panel, can't change NAV frequency by [email protected]
I just installed FSX and tried out the 172 with G1000 panel. I have never used a G1000 panel, but I'm curious. Strangely, if I click on the "NAV" button on the upper left corner of the panel, I can only change the digits to the right of the decimal point, not the integer portion of the...

Acrobatic simulators by Jake
Is there a good simulator for acrbatic? Flight Unlimited I used to be pretty good, but I can't get it to run on any of my present day computers. I wonder if may be some of the newer simulators might do acrobatocs. MS FS I find doesn't do any of the accelerated stall manuevers anywhere...

MS Flight simulator problem: rudder over reacting by SilkB
It's been a while since I flew with MS flight simulator and I got back in the cockpit the other day. I got CH yoke and rudder pedal and installed FSX. FSX is great but I have a problem (and in a way I think happened in older versions of MSFS): when I use the rudder to maintain runway alignment, it...
