Multi time building Q by
Jackal24
Anyone have any ideas on where to go to get around 50 hours of multi-time
cheap? I looked at AriBen, but the reviews lately are not too great.

Spinner strobing as a "Bird Strike Countermeasure" by
Jim Logajan
The following thread on the Van's Air Force web site was of general enough
interest that I thought it worthwhile to bring it to the attention of other
pilots:

Would be quite useful if it really worked. Of course there would still be...

Cessna gear-up at MMU today (Morristown NJ) by
Kingfish
I just got a call from a friend who was watching the news showing live
shots of a Cessna making a belly landing at MMU. Sounds like one of
the mains wouldn't lock down - did anybody see this? I'm sure it'll be
on the 6pm news tonight.

Excellent TV Piece on GA by

Amazing! This Cedar Rapids, Iowa TV station did a 2-part piece on
learning to fly -- and did a wonderful job!
The CFI in both segments, Tim Bush, is outstanding. He's a real
pistol, locally, with a zillion ideas for growing GA, and...

Rental Checkride? by
Dallas
I was just checking the rental terms at an FBO in the city I plan to visit
over Christmas.
I've got most of my hours in the type I wanted to rent and the FBO said
they want 3 takes offs and landings, then a power on and power off stall.
They charge the time to do this as dual.
I can see 20...

An Airplane Down-Possibly by

Gang,
When I arrived at Thun Field (KPLU) this afternoon, I noticed that one
TV news van and our Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) were
at the airport. Local radio news had reported this afternoon (Dec 10,

Is it really called a "can"... by
Tman
Or are the guys at the FBO just f'ing with me?
The thing with the keys, paperwork, hobbs logs, etc. for a rental aircraft.
What's the origin of this term? Google searches lead to nothing but other
senses of the word "can" and online slang / dictionaries have nothing
either.
Is it an acronym? ...
