Artificial horizon pinout? by [email protected]
Does anyone have pinout, number/diagram, for the (seemingly standardized) plug on the back of those vacuum driven artificial horizons? I assume they interface with a wing leveler or autopilot. Jim

Interpreting AC 43.13 by Michael Horowitz
Obviously, Chapter 4 doesn't cover every possible welding repair and the field is left to interpret the Circular, making up a justification one hopes will fly with the FSDO (when the 337 is submitted). For example, the joining of two dissimilar sizes of tubing using a fishmouth or scarf joint (as...

What was that welding exercise/exam? by mhorowit
Somewhere I read about a welding exercise where the student built a tube frame of some sort, pressurized it, checked for leaks, then smashed it flat and rechecked for leaks. I've looked thru my books but can't find it. Anyone recall where I can find a description of the exercise? - Mike

NVAV International FLY-IN MIDDEN ZEELAND (EHMZ) 25-26-27 augustus 2006 by Zier & van de Steenoven
To make things easy for the catering volunteers in the Aeroclub, please book in advance. We recommend the Musselmeal, prepared from fresh local catch. Our fly-in is organised in the same location as last year. To make it easier for Aeroclub, we ask you to book and pay in advance. For details...

Arlington lays some eggs by Ken Finney
This will be a negative post, but hopefully, constructive criticism. I've been to Oshkosh once, lots of small fly-ins, and every year for the past eight years to the Arlington Fly-In (www.nweaa.org). Oshkosh is SO big, it is difficult to take away a lot of lessons that are applicable to...

747 Lawnmower ?..............Yes, this is real, a flying Lawnmower by Hansi
If you up there in the Cockpit, look out of the window and see an Lawnmower, don't be alerted, you are not crazy. They now have flying Lawnmowers. The same group of Hobby-ingenieurs also developed a flying doghouse and working on a flying Washmachine and a flying...

O/A welding question: tip size by mhorowit
I'm having a welding problem. I'm using an OxyAcy rig. I'm running 2 psi for each gas thru a .025 diameter tip. I find that in order to weld join two pieces of .035 tubing with this tip, I must adjust the flame until it's no larger than 3/16" long. Otherwise I'm heating up too much of an area and...

planning my project... by Bob Martin
I'm still a few years away from being able to start building, but I'm already looking into possible kits. What I'd really like, but would probably be unable to afford, is an RV-7 or -8. I could try to scrounge it all together,as one guy in my dad's hangar did; he built a -6A without ordering a...

Oshkosh patches wanted! by John T
Hi all, I'm looking for the following Oshkosh patches: 1989, 1992, 1993, 1997. I may be also in the market for a volunteer patch for 2005, as I can't seem to find mine. I've started putting together my patch vest, and those 1989 and '90s patches are the ones EAA no longer has in stock.

Fiberglass vs. Fabric by Lou
Ok, I just finished reading Tony Bingelis's "sportplane builder" section on covering a wooden plane with fiberglass instead of the intended fabric. Has anyone in this group ever done this or some who knows someone who has done this? I'm building a wooden place that calls for a fabric covering. ...
