Wicker or Cane seat for biplane by Ebby
Hello, I am building a Hatz biplane which looks a lot like the Waco. I was thinking about putting an authentic looking wicker or caned seats in it. Can someone in this group point me in the right direction for some plans, ideas or examples? Thanks Ebby Hatz CB-1 s/n 598

Questions on covering by Ed
My Decathlon is in annual right now, and needs some repairs to the original dope-on-Ceconite finish. Our new A&P doesn't have much experience with fabric work, so he sought advice from others. I'm feeling uneasy about the answers he got. A couple of questions for those with paint and fabric...

Shields for C-26 plugs by Ed Byars
Does anybody remember the dome shaped shields that were once available for Champion C-26 sparkplugs? I'm restoring a Culver Cadet and want to avoid the non-original eye brow humps which are commonly used as a solution for the tight clearance of the front top plugs. I need two, and feel I could make...

Recovering fuselage by Ed Haywood
The belly fabric on my Decathlon is in terrible shape. It is oil soaked to the point where the paint and tapes are flaking off. Something has to be done. Doubtful we can reskin just the belly, so we are considering a recover of the entire fuselage. Is it possible to recover a fuselage without...

UK Firefly crashes by F7FTCAT
Am I imagining things or does there seem to be a pretty high attrition rate among the really rare airplanes at some of these UK airshows? I mean there was the P-38, P-63, Mosquito, the Me-109 (Black 6), then there was the Sea Fury on the golf course and the Sea Fury on the beach. Now there is...

Which was the seaplane first shown in the film "The Aviator"? by [email protected]
In "The Aviator" HH arrives at the beach in a really cool looking seaplane and later teaches Katharine Hepburn to fly in the same plane. Does anybody know if that was a restoration, or replica of an actual seaplane from that era? And which one? -- FF
