Phoenix area DA-40 rental? by
Thomas Borchert
Hi all,
does anyone know of places to rent a DA-40 from in the Phoenix area?
Could be an SR20, too. Arizona Flightworks at SDL used to have one, but
it is moving to another location. Thanks!

airpark - with good soaring conditions? by
tienshanman
Does anyone know of nice, residential airparks in good soaring areas that would be accommodating of gliders? Western US, Northeast US, whatever.....I need to come back to the US and find a soarable place to live, without having to commute to an airfield.

flight computer calculation by
Tim
Hi,
I noted something very strange while I was "playing" with my flight
computer.
e.g. W/V: 340/60
TAS: 330 kts
True Course: 088°
I found a GS of 344 kts (so the TW-component is 14 kts (makes sense up

final reserve fuel by
Tim
Hi,
Could anyone tell me how the final reserve for jets is calculated?
I know it's the fuel to fly for 30 minutes at 1500ft AAL in ISA
conditions at holding speed... But what weight do you use? Do you
assume that contignency fuel is burnt (so gross weight = TOW - TRIP
fuel - ALTN fuel) when...

MD26-28 400Hz inverter - not very reliable by
Tim Shoppa

I've had two of the above fail in under 3 years.
I would guess that the failures are related to adverse voltages
coming in or an adverse load on the output. The electrical
environment of a small plane can actually be much more abusive
than a modern car, because of the wide...

Any way to view Jepp "Text Pages" CD? by
[email protected]
Those PDFs are driven by the "TEXT" tab in JeppView. Click on the "TEXT"
tab and you will be led to a series of pages that are similar to the NOTAM
pages in a Jeppesen paper subscription

Any real posts here? by
TimeTraveller
I see that this forum has been usurped by that MI5 loon as well, too
bad.
Seems odd that he seems to be able to infest every google group with
impunity.
Anyway...is there any posting going on here at all, or has everyone
moved to private message boards?

What kind of plane depicted on US parcel post stamp Q8? by
TimeTraveller
Issued in 1913, it was the first plane to ever appear on a stamp.
Can anyone tell me what kind of plane it is?
http://www.linns.com/howto/refresher/airmails_20030210/refreshercourse.aspx
It's Figure number 7.
(FIgure 8 is the Curtiss Jenny, the one famous for the "Inverted Jenny
error....)

Travel packages to Airventure 2004? by
Timothy Wilson
Having had a blast at Airventure 2003, I'd like to go again. My dad
had mentioned there might be chartered flights with lodging in some
sorta package deal. I've scoured Sport Aviation and looked on the
internet, but can't seem to find anything like it besides EAA chapter
fly-together sorta...

Renter's Insurance - Questions & Advice by
Tino
Several questions regarding Renter's Insurance:
1) Any personal experience with Avemco or AOPA? Especially filing a
claim.
2) Realizing individual needs may vary, do you favor leaning towards
more liability and less hull damage or otherwise?
3) Has anybody negotiated unique "riders" to any of...
