Warrior/Cherokee ? by Dave
Some are gona think this is a dumb ? , but here goes.. Our Warrior (new to us) has a seat back "release" on the co-pilots seat.. OK, -so does the seat back lock in the " forward position" and the "release allows it to move back to the "upright" position? Ours does... seems backward tho...

Wash, polish, wax? by Jim Burns
Spring is almost here (ok, I probably just jinxed it) and we're wanting to really clean up the Aztec before applying a good base coat of wax for the summer. We've got a little oxidation and some fuel streaking, but mostly just hanger dust, belly oil, runway grime, tire, brake, and exhaust dust to...

Washing a fiberglass airplane by City Dweller
Hi all, After a year of heavy use, including multiple applications of that nasty orange deicing fluid, my Diamond Start is dirty is hell. Technically it is not even white anymore. I want to give it a wash for the first time, but I want to do it properly. Our airport has a wash station with water...

wasp nest in aileron by tony roberts
At this time of year the wasps start a nest in my ailerons a couple of times each week. I'm allergic to wasps so each time that I go out to the airport I look for the newly started nests and spray them with Raid flying insect killer. Obviously to do this involves spraying the insect killer inside...

Watch out for the Brokers by Dude
Not the plane brokers, the stock brokers. Their recent strategy, show up to airplane shows and get their hands on all the cards they can. I don't know how they got mine, but they left a message saying they had the research I asked for(?), and that I should call right back. Now that its happened...

Water detector by Paul kgyy
I saw an Ad in TAP this week for a Comanche with a "water in fuel" detector. Anybody know anything about this - where it resides, how it works, who sells it? It seems to me it could be a valuable tool, but a lot would depend on where the sensor is located.

Water in our oil, or just alot of hot air? by [email protected]
I just watched a program about the huge Oresund bridge between Denmark and Sweden, and there was a segment about how the corrosion problem for the bridge was dealt with. Instead of painting, they use sealed compartments that have the air humidity kept below 60%. This they said eliminates corrosion....

Wax by zatatime
What type of wax do you use on your airplane? I'd like to stay away from the standard "carnuba" type waxes because its a royal pain to buff around all the rivets (its a Cherokee). Any one step polishes out there that don't require the second buffing step? This plane has not been waxed in at...

Wayward Tach by O. Sami Saydjari
Based on advice from a column I read on AVWEB by John Deakin, I had my Tach checked since it was in the shop anyay. I was surprised to find out that it was reading 150 RPM lower than the true RPM. That seems pretty bad. I said, OK, no problem, just adjust it. No dice. I was informed that it...

Weatherstripping by Hankal
My 1973 172 is getting a liitle drafty. I may replace the weatherstripping around my doors and my two windows. Does not look like a big job, just time consuming. Where can I buy the gasket material and the adhesive. Of course I would not think of replacing it with Non approved parts. Thanks Hank...
