Peravia Barograph Question by
Roy Bourgeois
Friends:
We recently received a donation of an excellent condition Peravia barograph
(with case and extra paper). I promised the donor a letter stating the
value of the donation. There was a time when these were very valuable -
but I do not know if they still hold that value in these days of GPS...

I'm selling a classic Compaq 1550 Aero pda. It comes with a 16MB CF card

nice, very usable system for a small fraction of the cost of a new PDA with

OLC Contest Champion?? by
David Kinsell
Anybody know what's wrong with the OLC-Champion report
on the website? It seems to show really old data, with
about a quarter of the total points shown for the year.
Been that way for months that I'm aware of.
Using Statistics: All Flights gives better data, but it's
got a few problems also. ...

We'll skip the preliminaries.
You know who you are.
Windoze provides a facility called "Infotips".
You've seen this when you hold your mouse over an

SSA to Address Debate Over Finish Procedure? by
SoarPoint
Endeavouring to defuse tensions that flared again recently over which
finish procedure to employ at comps, SSA are rumoured to be considering
a change that could quell the rancor and invective over the two
practises: viz., finish line v. finish ring/cylinder.
As America's gliding overseers are...

Foolproof ELT/PLB activation by
01-- Zero One
I think I may have just invented an effective way to activate any of
these new ELT/PLB devices.
I am calling it the "RSPT sensor". It stands for Rectal Sphinctoid
Pressure/Temperature sensor.

Newbie question: staying calmly behind glider tug by
[email protected]
I'm planning to join the local soaring club and had my first ride last
weekend. I was eager to take the controls while being towed and was
enormously humbled by the experience.
I've had my ppsel for several years, but do not have many hours under
my belt. Never the less, I was looking forward to...

Electronic versus Pneumatic compensation in LX7000 by
[email protected]
My new LX7000 has instructions for setting up with electronic or
pneumatic compensation, but does not make a recommendation. My new
glider seems to have a very nice TE installation, so my bet is on the
pneumatic route, but if anyone has direct experience with this
instrument (or on the topic in...

Battery Question by
[email protected]
All,
I purchased an 8 Amp-hour battery for use in my ASW-20 about 6 months
ago. I had been running a radio, ELT, 302/303 combination, and IPAQ
3800. With that combination my battery would last longer than I wanted
to be in the air; generally more than 5 hours.
I recently removed the 303 and added...
