Mythbusters Episode and FMS by
Marco Leon
Saw a repeat episode of Mythbusters for the first time last night about
the use of cell phones on an airplane and interference with cockpit
instruments. I know that this was mentioned in a November 2006 thread
briefly but the short of it was that they concluded cell phones really
CAN interfere with...

Iowa Aviation Weather...en Espanol by

What will doom the US to the Yugoslavia model is the bigotry of its
citizens, not the languages they use.
I love when people call other people bigots these days. It means what?
When Sweden becomes 67% Pakistani (sometime in the next 25 years!) will it
still be Sweden?

I saw Mxsmanic on TV by
Clear Prop
Well, not exactly. It wasn't actually him on TV. It was not even a human
being but a cartoon character. But, Lord, he looked EXACTLY how I picture Mr
Anthony Atkielski, Esqui a middle-aged overweight ugly loser sitting in
front of the computer all day long ****ing people off.
In this episode...

Visual coordination of turns revisited by
Mxsmanic
I'm still in a bit of a quandry as to how to learn to make coordinated turns
in a PC simulator that does not include a motion platform.
I've turned on the visual alignment indicator that MSFS provides, which is a
red "V" that sits squarely ahead in the visual field, effectively bolted to
the...

In the interest in lightening the mood, I thought I'd share the
following to fellow rec.aviation.piloting readers:
Last time I checked no one had recorded it to audio, yet here is the
infamous "I am the very model of a Usenet individual" (based on the "I

Where to find list of all IATA codes? by
virtuPIC
Okay. since my recent question regarding ICAO codes I am one step
further. Now I am looking for IATA codes. Yes, recently I've seen a
link to an FAA directory containing all ICAO and US-IATA codes. But I
need an international list. Wikipedia has a list - but it seems to be
wrong. E.g. St....

Wichita Airspace Question and overlapping airspace by
Owen[_4_]
So, Wichita, Kansas seems to be blessed with a lot of airports and the
sectional chart looks pretty busy. To the east of Wichita Mid Continent
(ICT), there is Col. Jabara (towerless), Beech Factory (private field
w/ tower), McConnell AFB, etc.
McConnel's Class D just grazes Beech's towered...

An Open Apology to R.A.P. by
Casey Wilson
I sat in the shadows for a long time attempting to ignore the resident

restrain myself, I started feeding the troll against my better judgement.
It is apparent that I have done nothing constructive in that regard...
