Emergency Landings by
Ol Shy & Bashful
This has come up a couple of times lately. Has anyone else here done
an off airport unscheduled landing? What were the circumstances and
outcome? How do you view it after the fact and what do you do to avoid
another one? (helicopters don't countgg)

Arizona Ranks Highly Too!! by
Jay Beckman
But unfortunately it's not in a good way.
Apparently, we're #1 in identity theft...
Two major contributing factors cited:
1) An elderly population who are not hip to the world of electronic
commerce.
2) A very high number of methamphetamine related crimes. Seems users and

Seattle advice by
CJ
Hello,
My wife and I are spending five nights in Seattle between July 4th and July
8th (leaving Saturday, July 9th). Since we're driving in on the fourth, we
basically have the 5th through the 8th as full days to explore. We have to
spend one day on the Olympic Penninsula (fond memories for my...

tie downs in the bush by
tom pettit
I've seen two basic gizmos for tying down a plane in the bush: something
that looks like a corkscrew, and something that looks like and auger. Which
one is best, and why?
thanks

Steve Foley
These were 8mm, transferred to VHS, and converted to digital. The company
that did the film to VHS added the sound.

Taking pictures commercial? by
Andrey Serbinenko
I know that books can be written about what FAA considers "commercial use"
requiring appropriate certification and what is "incidental", but I'm going
to ask this anyway. Does taking aerial pictures and then using them in
a commercial product constitute a commercial use? If I take a picture of

Airparks and clubs around Phoenix AZ ? by
gilan
Are there any small airparks and flying clubs around the Phoenix AZ area?
I'm not talking about the airports on the sectional chart. I'm looking for
the small grass or dirt fields with Experimentals and or Ultralights? OK I
suppose some may be on sectional charts.

stupid GPS question by
Mike W.
OK I am just getting into the VFR GPS navigation thing. Here is my question:
what is the origin of all of these intersections? I see some as airway
intersections on sectionals, but many seem random.
And why is it when I file an airway flight plan with AOPA flight planner, it
always throws a couple...

I was returning this afternoon from the first flight that I've been
able to make since the end of July due to a busy work schedule and the
Omega Block low clouds and daily strong thunderstorms we've been
experiencing here in the New York area for the past few weeks. So after
I landed and buttoned...

Getting through commercial airport security after obtaining a pilot cert by
SanDiego_Guy
I am curious to see if anyone else has experienced an increase in the
frequency of being selected for more thourough security searches when
flying commercially since obtaining a private pilot certificate.
I am not a paranoid person, and am not really bothered by it but... I
am well over 6 feet...

Jeppessen software (ie. JeppView?) and vmware (or perhapsalternatives) by

I'm getting tired of paper revisions. At work, I tease those that
actually still use paper when there's a better alternative. And here I
am still using paper when there's a better alternative.
However, I've no machine running a Microsoft environment directly, and
this seems to be the target...
