Least Expensive Flying by
[email protected]
Mention 'The Man From Illinois' and most people will say 'Abe
Lincoln.' And I mean, most people EVERYWHERE. But for me the 'man
from Illinois' will always be the fellow who asked my opinion
regarding the least expensive way for him to fly. To give him an
honest answer I needed to know a bit more...

Icom A6 Radio Registration Problem by
Clyde Torres
I bought an Icom A6 radio at SnF from Pacific Coast Avionics. I tried to
register it to get the warranty going and to get the rebate. When I try to
do it, it wants to know the "UPC," but it won't take what I give it. What I
give it is a number underneath a piece of paper that someone obviously...

The Orphaned Engine, Part Two by

Having referred to an 'orphaned' engine shortly after being diagnosed
with an incurable form of cancer lead to a gross misunderstanding as
to the immediacy of my demise, with me being carried out the door, X's
for eyes with a wrench still clutched in my hand. Last June I was
diagnosed with...

Airboat Lycoming's by
Lou
Can anyone tell me the difference between the motors on airboats and
the motors in airplanes?
I notice quite a few airboat engines at 1/4 of the price of airplane
engines. I figure if your going to tear down and rebuild anyway, why
spend the extra cash? So far the only difference I can tell is...

Listers, I need help, please.
About three weeks ago I had to push an airframe that I was working

intalled on this airframe, but still covered in the protective plastic
"masking" to prevent scratching.
Now, after three weeks in the...

Could having dropped a spark-plug (REM38E in a Lyc O-360-A2D) cause

other consequences might there be from a dropped plug? I've been
wrestling with a static problem on one mag in the radio. I got some
