Engine starters in the J41 by
Matthias Lieberecht
Hi All,
I have a couple of questions about the BAe Jetstream 41.
In the engine management area of the overhead panel are the automatic and
manual starters. The function of the automatic starters is clear as there is
one starter for each engine. Below the automatic starters is the manual
starter....

Old GPS Databases by
George Graham
I need an older version of the US jppesen database for a Garmin 95XL. Garmin
no longer supports this model so I can't convert the database from the
Atlantic version without using an older version. If anyone has one I would
appreciate it if you could send a copy. Thanks.

During hot air balloon races in Reno/Sparks, avoid Quality Inn by
Joe Clark
***The next time you consider vacationing in Reno/Sparks, Nevada
during the hot air balloon races, you may want to seriously consider
avoiding the Quality Inn, Sparks, Nevada as a place to stay.
***During a recent stay there, I experienced lax security, repeatedly
malfunctioning room keys,...

Aircraft Designations by
David Townend
The second printing of "Military Aircraft Designations and Systems" is still
available. We were out of print soon after our October 2002 printing so it
is good to have copies available again. We are also able to hold the
original price, too. Military Aircraft designations
catalogued from 1913 to...

WW2 story about Iwo Jima airplane repairs by
Ron
Once I read a story about an American officer who complained to his superior about the way things were handled on the airfields of
Iwo Jima. He thought that repairs to bombers returning from missions over Japan could be done much better and faster. The superior -
not in a mood for a discussion -...

Question by
Chris
I recently took a student pilot flying with me. He only has about 20 hours I
was wondering if it's legal to let him take the controls being I'm only a
private pilot. If so is there any possible way he could log this flight time
we do together. I realize it can't be dual being I'm not...

Flyers and Beeman's Gum by
D.Hass
Does anyone know why pilots always preferred Beeman's pepsin gum back
in the old days. I have seen it prominently referenced in The Rockeeer
and The Right Stufff movies.
I think it was to cover up alcohol breath or a superstition.

RONs - NJ -> OSH by
Michael Bullock
I'm planning on taking my 4 & 6 year olds to their first Oshkosh.
However, I don't think they'll have the stamina or patience to make the
trip from my Central NJ location into OSH in one day. Probably would be
best to fly a few hours and then do some kid-friendly activity for the
rest of the...

Early morning hotel-to-airport by

A friend and I are planning on flying our Ercoupes from California to
Oshkosh. First long trip for both of us.
Based on just about everyone's advice, we want to leave each day as
early as possible (takeoff around 6:00 am), fly until noon or so, and
then park for the rest of the day. This schedule...

Is Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia included in a sort of open skies agreement
