I want a hoverboard/ultralight helicopter. by
speedevil
I was browsing my favourite chinese junk site, and came across
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15230
This is a 70mm diameter fan that takes 580W of power, and produces
1.1Kg of thrust, and weighs 116g.
Imagine a board around a meter round, with a large number - around 150
- of these...

Airworthiness certification of an experimental by
Ace Pilot
Where can I find a fairly detailed explanation of the airworthiness
certification of an experimental aircraft? Specifically, I'd like to
know if experimentals get certified in a class (land, sea, single
engine, multi-engine) or just in category. I'm sure I'll have
additional questions, which is why...

Roadable Aircraft ... What about this? by
[email protected]
I saw earlier posts about North Texan's Butterfly and was impressed
with the depth and quality of discussion regarding patents and the
limitations and requirements for roadable aricraft.
I would welcome your feedback regarding my product:

Stupid Americans! -- Stupid... Stupid... STUPID!!! __________-+__ihuvpe by
john smith
The train was quite crowded, so the U. S. Marine walked its entire
length looking for a seat, but the only seat left was taken by a
well-dressed, middle-aged, French woman's poodle. The war-weary
Marine asked, "Ma'am, may I have that seat?"
The French woman just sniffed and said to no one in...

Videos of aviation mishaps, accidents and crashes on-line by
Rich
I think it might be healthy to be reminded ocasionally that bad things
can happen if you don't respect what your doing, especially in aviation.
Perhaps it'll make me a little more thorough on subsequent preflights.
And I find no problem with learning from other's mistakes.
So I watched the video...

Titan T-51... by
wildcat
I saw the Titan T-51 down at SnF this year and I've been thinking
about it ever since. I like it a little more than the RV-8 at the
moment even though it's not as fast and costs more initially. What do
you folks think about the T-51? Does anyone know someone who is
building one? Do they have or...

AEROBATIC LEGEND DUANE COLE PASSES AWAY by
Fitzair4
A very good aerobatic instructor.
Duane Cole was not a show off-stunt airshow pilot, with engine noise,
but a very good performer, teaching pilots how to keep control
of the plane when doing aerobatics.
I watched him many times since the 1968 EAA Rockford days.
Thank you, Duane Cole for your...

oil leak question by
Dick
My Continental 85 is leaking oil and appears to be from pushrod tubes and
valve covers. It is on an experimental plane.
While I can cure the one leaking valve cover, the pushrod tubes have those
heavy "wirecircles with two tangs" over the rubber end fittings. Some tubes
are leaking at bottom and...

Funky place to store your fuel? by
BllFs6
Hi all...
Was doing a little web reading on part 103 Ultralights (both gyro's and more
conventional winged thingys).....
And it quickly becomes obvious that staying under that 250 pound or so limit
aint easy...
So, so the gas tanks (like everything else on an ultralight) doesn' t really
inspire...

Ever hear of a Rodman nibbler? by
Ed Wischmeyer
My wife saw one of these at AirVenture and thought it would be useful for
her projects. I'd never heard of it, and seemed pricey ($180 for a nibbler
that attaches to your electric drill, plus some spare cutters.)
Anybody got any word on this?
thanks
Ed Wischmeyer

misdrilled hole on on tubular aluminum spar question by
patrick mitchel
There's a discussion on a ul ng about a guy that built a strut braced light
plane and in a fit of overkill (apparently ) decided to add a (non plans)
jury strut. He drilled a hole (3/16") on the bottom of the tubular alum
spar. Then realized he may have made a mistake. Whats the outcome and is...

Has anyone ever used a liquid to liquid cooler on a home built. I know
this type of cooler is normal on a turbin engine but what would it do to
a normally asperated engine and none JP rated fuels?
What do you have in mind, using a heat exchanger to cool your oil and warm
