Spaceship 2 project details released by Morgans[_2_]
In AvWeb, there is a story about some of the things going on at Scaled Composites, with some pictures of White Knight 2, and a link back to Scaled's web site, with quite a few good pictures and stories about what has been happening. 4 engines on the wing of White Knight. I did not see any...

J3 fuel valve by Tri-Pacer
Does anyone know the size of the ports on the fuel valve used in the J-3? I need to get a field approval to substitute a no longer available shut off valve in another aircraft. If the openings are 1/4 NPT I think I could use that valve. Thanks Paul

290G Question / Help by [email protected]
I have a converted 290G and would like to add an alternator. I have the alternator the correct old style case mounting bracket, pulley, etc. My problem is that the 290G does not appear to have a machined boss for attaching the tensioning. I have seen photos of several 290G's with alternators so I...

What caused the accident at OSH? I heard the front plane, which had a slower stall, touched down first instead of second.

oil pressure problem by Dick[_1_]
I'd like some advice where the problem is no reading on the gauge ( and can use a Volt-ohm-meter if have to). It is a three wire Electric gauge and a bell shaped sensor with the lead attached at the top. Although upon sensor removal, there was oil pressure (squirting G). Could I check for...

Rutan Rontz Plywood Flyer by John Kunkel
Somewhere in my aged memory cells I seem to recall a story about Burt Rutan and John Rontz collaberating to mount an engine on a sheet of plywood and tether "flying" it to illustrate that anything will fly with the correct AOA. I'm not finding any references on the search engines, truth or myth?

Hi Pam; Wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your company at BLT Saturday night. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. It was an interesting play, loved the costumes, and thought the casting was great. Those times certainly seem to be much different than today. Lloyd

Dinged Up Prop by [email protected]
A friend with an RV-6 and one of those beautiful wooden props dinged it up with a rock or some kind of FOD. The damage left a half-inch notch about 15 inches inboard of the tip, so he filled it with epoxy and went on like nothing happened. One day he was at altitude over Rutherfordton playing...

Slightly OT Fiberglass over foam problem by Dave Lyon
Hey guys, I've been lurking around here for quite a while to get an education. I'm building a project that could use a little expert guidance. I am making a paintball tank. Not the type that you put air in, but the type that you put people in. :) This is my 2nd tank. I used plywood for the skin of...
