Personal Eye In The Sky by a[_3_]
Taken from an on line news article, but I've removed the name of the pilot. Pilot NNNNNNNN was flying his personal plane from North Carolina to his Florida home when he decided to fly over his house and saw something unusual. "He observed a silver truck with white camper in his driveway and...

Concorde Crash by Orval Fairbairn
Here is an interesting story on the crash that grounded the Concordes: http://www.askthepilot.com/untold-concorde-story/ It seems that the fire wasn't the cause of the crash -- it was basic airmanship.

Oshkosh Floobydust by [email protected]
Just found this thread. Are you talking about the idiot who flew into Oshkosh without a NOTAM and carried on a two-minute conversation with ATC? Just curious... I know that idiot.

What airplane would you recommend for these specifications? by Peri123
I am looking for a four seater, needs to have good gas milage, preferably goes faster than 200 mph, awesome if it goes more than 300! Preferably a more affordable choice, if possible. Quality engine, good handling, can do some aerobatics, etc... Any recommendations?

On Seeing, on Flying, and on Cataracts by Vaughn
It's amazing how blind one can be and still legally fly. The FAA only requires that your vision be corrected to 20/40 or better for a 3rd class medical! (See the difference between 20/20 and 20/40 he http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_chart ) With a recent pair of glasses, mine never measured...

I really like this plane by Mark IV[_6_]

The Discovery channel Crash of a 727 by a[_3_]
I'd be interested in comments about this program. It was two years in the planning, but the team didn't figure out that a Skymaster chase plane at full throttle could not keep up with the 727 on approach. They didn't figure out that you should not fly an approach at typical glide slopes for...

Does anyone have any information on Bush pilots? I know generally what they do, but not how they do it. What kind of planes? Hours? Income?
