Cleveland Wheel Shims by
Ron Wanttaja
I need to add some shims to the axles of my Fly Baby to reduce the side-to-side
movement of my wheels (the axles aren't threaded at the end, the wheels are held
on with a cross-bolt through a bushing).
I basically need some thin metal washers with a 1.5" inside diameter. I'm
suspecting the...

O-200 installation drawings by
rpellicciotti
I would like to find drawings for the O-200 engine, baffling, etc. I
am assisting a friend to put in an O-200 into a design that originally
used a different engine.
Thanks in advance,
Rick Pellicciotti

'The Riddle of Richard Pearse' by
CJB
A video of docu-drama film 'The Riddle of Richard Pearse' has been
located, digitised and uploaded to Google Video. This is the film
during which the horse which was towing the replica plane across a
field suddenly bolted and the plane took off - but despite all the
cameras around no-one managed to...

antenna in composite airframe by
et
All this talk about antennas got me thinking about my install. I have
a Glasair with the antenna in the aft fuse. mounted on an aluminum
ground plane. Should this be connected to the a/c ground?

ELT antenna in composite planes. by
[email protected]
ELT normally uses an externally mounted antenna. But in composite
planes it may be advantageous to use a ducky.
1. On crash the external antenna may be destroyed - brushing against
trees, whatever. An attached ducky on the ELT will likely stay on.
2. A ducky radiates nearly isotropically - i.e....

Sears tools by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
I recently purchased the Sears "Professional" Lithium batteried driver
drills. I purchased two because I was in the process of erecting a metal
building. The batteries and charger worked good but the keyless chuck on
both drills exhibit what I call "Auto Loosen". I have several other keyless...

Trutrak auto pilot by
davidh
Greetings Homebuilt folk
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has installed the
Trutrak ADI Pilot 1 using their inbuild GPS rather than an exernal GPS
to provide track information.
For the type of flying that I do I believe that not being able to
interact with the GPS and not able to...

Are 100% electric ultralights around? by
YouHelpBuild.com
What problems can anyone forsee to building a 100% electric ultralight
aircraft for short & mid-range commuters to get back & forth to work
(aside from air traffic issues... it IS a big sky after all)? I
understand the average commute is less than 30 miles in land based
vehicles which would...

Fiberglass sample packs??????? by
Lou
Anyone know where I could order a bunch of small samples of different
weights
and thicknesses of small amounts of fiberglass? I'm looking to
experiment
with different sizes so I'll need 3 or 4 square feet of the different
sizes.

Sandblasting reference? by
Michael Horowitz
Just thinking into the future at the moment.
I know nothing about sandblasting except you can apparently use
different abrasive material i.e. glass beads, sand, nut shells (?)
An aircraft I'm looking at has some rust at the tail cone. If I
purchase it, I'd like to remove the rust and prime...

there are one third aircrafts which installed our instruments.
We want to know whether pilots like 2" or 2 1/4" ALT, ASI, VSI. They

Anybody refinish their old ASW 19? by
Jim Rizzo
Yes, I know about hiring it out, but I used to be a model maker and its fun,
or at least has been so far.
Anybody know anyone who has re-profiled the wing and may have a
template set? Jim
