TPA sillyness by
Roy Smith
Somebody explain this one to me. DXR (Danburry, CT) lists:
Pattern altitude: 1701 ft. MSL
TPA FOR JET ACFT 1743 AGL
The field elevation is 458. I'm cool with the higher than normal TPA
(there's some big hills right next to the airport), but I don't
understand where they got the strange...

Becoming a Pilot by
Vixus
I've just got a couple of questions regading a future career as a
pilot, probably beginning after university (Biology).
First of all, I would like to know if ethnicity would pose any barrier
to becoming an airline pilot. All the yahoos that initiated the 9/11
disasters seem to have cast a shadow...

scattered over his home town. I've read a few horror stories in
flying magazine. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have a
Mooney and am a little concerned about stuff getting blown back in, or
all over the wings. ...
