Gyrocopter Speed by
Mark
I have some basic questions about speeds of gyrocopters.
(Please forgive me if my questions are kind of basic. I'm currently working
on my private pilot for airplanes, with long term goal of getting into
gyros. I have a few hours time in gyros, but not enough yet to know what
I'm talking...

old gyrocopter design? by
E. Glaser
Hi there everyone!
The reason for this posting is straight forward: I am looking for an old
gyro copter design. It must be older than 1994 for it is not in a 1994
listing of "KITPLANES" anymore. As far as my memory goes, it was called
"Windrider" or "Windraider", had a composite fuselage and an...

Future Rotorcraft ~ The Interleaving Configuration by
Dave Jackson
The web page http://www.unicopter.com/1441.html is placed into the public

- To assure that this concept is not patented by one, to the exclusion of
all others.
- To stimulate a consideration and further development of this rotorcraft

australian rotorcraft project? by
patrick mitchel
As I recall, there was a drawing in a "janes all the world's aircraft" that
showed a rotorcraft that I thought was under construction in australia. It
looked like a rotor (large diameter ) that was surroundeed by a fan housing
with a forward cockpit area, vestigial wings and tail sprouting from...

Helicopters and Wires by
[email protected]
Anyone else besides me here ever hit a wire in a helicopter? I did it
at night while crop dusting in California. Was a steel cable and all it
did was leave "chatter" marks in the paint and tore the end cap. Very
close call and we had to replace the blades (which were just about
timed out anyway).
I...

Pilots - Melbourne, Australia ??? by

Hi guys,
Any helicopter pilots in Melbourne Australia, preferably Northern(ish)
suburbs that are up to speed on the Operations Perf and Planning exam
that would be willing to share (tutor I guess) myself. Currently
completing a CPL(H) however, with work commitments finding it hard to
make it up to...

BA609 Flys Again! by
CTR
My friends at Bell emailed me today to tell me that the BA609 has
returned to flight test. Today it made four flights totaling about an
hour before bad weather rolled in. More should be on the internet
tomorrow. This should put them on track for achieving airplane mode
this summer.
Take...

UH-1F Huey help by
Hello,
I've looked 'high and low' but cannot locate a Speed Decreaser Gear (SDG) to
fit a T58-GE-3 engine. I believe this motor originally flew in a UH-1F Huey.
The SDG needs to be complete, in running condition but does not require
'air-worthy' paperwork (as this for a 'non-aircraft' application)...

Helicopter Linesman by
Mr Rogers
Did anyone happen to catch the documentary on the history channel about
using helicopters to check HV lines.
Fascinating stuff, very wild to see the heli some inches from a 300KV line
with a handler hanging out the side with a grounding line to the heli. At
some points you could see the arc jump...

Dangerous Stuff by
[email protected]
Have been thinking of things to post re;Ag Flying with rotorcraft. I
have to pay more attention to my work though! In many of my fields
here, they are irrigated with sprinkler pivots. Generally I'll have to
fly over them spraying to get the crops underneath. I haven't measured
the tallest points on...
