Camping at Yellowstone by
[email protected]
We have been invited by friends to a camping trip at Yellowstone park
this summer. The camp ground is at Bridge Bay in Yellowstone national
park.
I am based in El Monte, Los Angeles basin. Which airport should I use

Skydiver accident by
Chris W
A few days ago I saw a quick story on FOX news about a skydiving
accident. They said that the skydiver hit the wing which cut his legs
off. Well the photo they had of the airplane was some twin and the
leading edge of the wing was crushed just out board of the left engine.
It looks to me like...

r.a.i and comcast giganews by
Gary Drescher
I no longer see rec.aviation.ifr on Comcast's newsfeed (via Giganews). The
other rec.aviation.* groups are still present though. I've been unable to
get a substantive response from Comcast or Giganews. Has anyone else
encountered this problem?

History of PIC by
Robert M. Gary
Does anyone know any details of the history of logging PIC vs. serving
as PIC. I assume at one point you logged PIC anytime you served as PIC
and that the FAA changed it for some reason. Does anyonw know..
1) When did this change happen
2) What prompted it?
I'm thinking about writting a "logging...

Little JOE ON....DIET
Little JOE was sitting on a park bench munching on one candy bar after
another. After the 6th one, a man on the bench across from him said,
"Son, you know eating all that candy isn't good for you. It will give
you acne, rot your teeth, and make you fat." Little JOE...

KFOG Kaboom from the air by
gschlumb
For those of you flying in the SF Bay Area:
I was wondering about the logistics of doing a bay tour during the KFOG
Kaboom fireworks show on the evening of May 21st. I would assume that
there will be a TFR around the actual show, which is going on just
south of the San Francisco side of the Bay...

DTW Snow by
Capt.Doug
During the winter, I usually overnight in warm places- Florida or the
Caribbean. I figured that by late April, I could safely bid the northern
overnights without having to take my trench coat. Wrong....
We broke out at 300' on the ILS at DTW with RVR of 1800'. The snow was
blowing horizontal....

Entry Level Headsets by
Mark Morissette
Currently I'm paying $5/Hr rental on David Clark's while flying out of
my FBO.
This was supposed to be a "temporary" charge for students there (like
myself) while the new headsets were paid for. Yes, they upgraded last
year from much lesser headsets, which were not really up to the
rigours of...
