My first hour in a complex aircraft, the Beech V35B by Peter R.
With the ownership formalities almost complete, today was the first day of my transition to a complex aircraft, a '73 Beech Bonanza V35B. On this cold but clear Northeast US afternoon, the instructor and soon-to- be-previous owner both took turns flying the first leg while I sat in the back,...

Climbs and Descents by pdxflyer
Just wanted to thank everyone for helping us launch Pilot Chronicles last month. Lot's of great stories posted. Keep'em coming. So far the En Route category seems to be the most popular phase of flight for "learning experiences" to occur. The two categories that are still without postings are...

Arnold Senterfitt RIP by Don Tuite
I haven't flown in Baja California since 1970, so I don't regularly visit the Baja Bush Pilots' Web site. But I did yesterday, and learned that Arnold Senterfitt, author of _Airports of Baja_ and founder of the Baja Bush Pilots, died on Tuesday, February 16, at age 78. Arnold, who was still...

Thanks to Bill Fox, a project coordinator at Lockheed for over 30 years, we now have a Blackbird Suite unlike anything you've ever seen. See some pix of it at: http://www.alexisparkinn.com/the_blackbird_suite.htm Bill donated so much Lockheed artwork and memorabilia that we actually couldn't...

Flying in the soup by Victor
Being a VFR pilot with almost 200 hrs I never flew in IMC Today I went out for the first time with my CFII to fly in IMC. It was a great experience to be more confident in case of an emergency. I would suggest everybody to do the same. Next on my list is basic aerobatics.

I have no problem with flying the ILS at 90 or 100 knots if the ceiling is well above minimums, but...
