pc simulator with Garmin GPS? by
paul kgyy
Anybody know of a PC flight simulator that has full flight controls
combined with a GNS-430 or 530? I have Garmin's 430 simulator without
flight controls, and On Top with controls and a 1990 GPS unit that
doesn't have approach fixes in the database. It'd be nice to have both
in one package.

Loaner Radios by
RST Engineering
I have a couple of radios that are excess to my current needs, but I really
don't want to sell them. It's the old "Why didn't I keep those around. Now
I've got to buy new ones" syndrome. Here's the list (all 12 volt only):
Microair 760 (760 COM)
Narco Com 11A (360 COM)

Cessna 152 Rudder trim adjustment? by
GEG
Hi Folks,
I'm a low-time (10 hour) student pilot.
I took my first flights in my school's 152 about 2 years ago, then had
an 18-month wait for various reasons.
When I first flew the plane, I don't remember the right rudder being
such an issue (I flew 3 times 2 years ago).
Now, the right rudder...

AOA; scalar or vector, resolved. by
Neil Gould
Hi all,
In a tangent many times removed from the original "Who does flight plans?"
thread, I became entangled in an argument about whether "AOA was a scalar
or a vector". Not finding an adequate resource off-line that clearly
resolved the issues involved in assigning either term as a valid...

Aviation Movies? by
Dave Burton
Here is you chance to suggest movies to show at a fly-in. I'd
appreciate any suggestions for newer movies, available on DVD or video
tape. We've seen all the oldies. I've got to stick to PG films for
the most part since this will be visible to the CAP cadets and anyone
else still up after dark. ...

AOPA MBNA Mastercard/Visa foreign transaction question by
Jessica Taylor
MBNA recently decided to surcharge foreign transactions on some of their
Mastercard and Visa credit cards. Previously, MBNA was one of the very
few banks that did not add their own surchage on top of the M-C/Visa
network exchange 1% fee.
I received a notice that one of my MBNA credit cards (not...

ultralight accident on Lake Winnipesaukee by
Cub Driver
The poster who claimed that a "seaplane" turned over on Lake
Winnipesaukee, NH, recently as a result of a boater's wake was a bit
wide of the mark.
The aircraft was actually an ultralight, whose pilot blamed the mishap
on the wind.
Bob Hirschfield, 54, of 3 Quimby Rd., Meredith, said the...

A Rec.Aviation FRS Channel @ Oshkosh this year? by
Bob Chilcoat
IIRC, last year someone (Jim Weir?) designated a Rec.Aviation FRS channel so
that everyone could find each other more easily. My brothers and I plan on
being there this year. Did it work out and was it any help last year? Are
there plans for repeating such a thing this year. If so, what...

CAP aircraft heirarchy by
Robert M. Gary
I understand that I must take a form 5 ride annually in the "highest"
aircraft I fly. So who wins between a C206 and a Mooney M20F. The 206
has more horsepower but the Mooney is "complex" (in the FAA terms, CAP
has another defintion of complex).

Just wondering... by
Fritz
Is it common to fly from North America to Europe in a small (Cessna to
smaller) type aircraft? I saw a show on discovery about people taking
ultralights around the world!
Just wondering if anyone here has done it or knows if it is a good idea?
Any help would be wonderful, thanks.

Smithsonian museum at Dulles by
Robert M. Gary
I tried to go to the museum at the Dulles airport today. Boy, they do a
good job of hidding that little gem. D.C. easily has the worst roads
for visitors in any city in any country I've ever visited. It is very
hard to find things...
1) Many roads have formal names as well as common names. The map...
