AOPA credit card --- WARNING. by RS
If you have an AOPA/MBNA credit card then you should check the APR on your last statements. MBNA has been raising the APR on AOPA cardholders, even if you pay on time. So check your credit card statements and call AOPA credit card services to complain. And also call MBNA to drop the rate back down.

Avgas Where is the ceiling? by Doug Palmer
100 LL just jumped from $3.82 to $4.54 at our airport, and at HAF we traditionally represent the lower costs for our area (SF Bay) Where will it end? to the pessimists in the room this feels like the begning of the end for those of us who pinch our pennies to get a little air time in once...

Cirrus and Lancair Make Bonanza Obsolete? by Potential Bo Buyer
Why is the market for late model V35B's and F33A's so flat. The economic climate (real and perceived) and 90's run-up have a lot to do with it, I'll acknowledge that. But there seems to be something else at work in this market. Are the Lancair Columbia and Cirrus SR22 substitute products for...

Cherokee 235 vs Trinidad vs Comanche by Douglas Paterson
Hello, All! About a year ago, I started airplane shopping. For personal and professional reasons, I had to back-burner that after never getting past the tire-kicking stage. Along the way, I got a lot of help from folks on this board, so now I'm returning to the fount as I prepare to begin...

Too Old? by Gezellig
Recently a 72 yo went blind in flight (stroke?) and safely landed in the drink in FL. Several comments were that age should be considered in keeping your PPL. I can see this makes sense /but/ it would prolly be illegal. Too old? If so, at what age do you place the cutoff?

Cirrus SR22 Purchase advice needed. by Dennis
I'm thinking of purchasing a Cirrus SR22, I seen it at Sun'n Fun (although I have seen it before) and now I can not stop thinking about it. I certainly can not afford to purchase one outright, but have a few people at my local FBO that would be interested in partnering.. I would like to get...

Wind/Solar Electrics ??? by RST Engineering
After much thought and ponderance, I've come to the conclusion that to electrify the hangar using Pacific Gas & Electricity (PG&E -- Pigs, Goats, and Elephants) isn't clever. By the time you get them to hang a meter ($5k), trench from the power pole to the end of the row of hangars, conduit romex...

Club Management Issue by Geoffrey Barnes
First off, I'm not directly involved in this situation, but I am trying to gain an understanding on how other FBOs and flying clubs deal with something like it. One of our club members was flying our 182 -- which the club leases from the two gentlemen who own it -- and had what appeared to be an...

I want to buy a plane by year-end but they're not making it easy. by T.Roger
I don't have my ticket yet -- and I'm really committed because I want to buy my own plane to train and fly -- and I want to take advantage of the tax write-off about to expire at year end. I've been at this since August. But, hell, they're not making it easy. All I've asked of Cirrus, Piper and...

MoGas Tips, Tricks, Concerns, How To by Al Gilson
We have a 1964 Cessna 172E with a Continental 0-300D. It has the AutoGas STC, but we've never used anything but 100LL. We've had some lead deposits and a stuck valve last spring. With the rising cost of 100LL at our airport, I'm looking at starting to use 87 Unleaded auto gas. Is there a...
