Roach Dry Lake Ground Launch Weekend by Dan Marotta
Checking to see if it's a go. Last I heard the usual place on the lake bed is reserved for April 17-19 but the Pawnee was out for recovering. Will the Pawnee be back in service by the appointed time? Will you trailer the gliders from Jean to the lake? We are planning our trip now... -- Dan...

Really good variometers vs..... by Uncle Fuzzy[_2_]
I'm part owner of a Janus C. It's equipped with a Borgelt B100. It works, it's interesting, but it's not exactly easy to use. The one reason I would not toss it is that it drives the only varios in the glider. It also has a Speed to fly feature that I've grown to like, switching modes according...

Basic Training Gliders by Justin Craig
I am surprised to read Derek suggesting that there is no successor to the K13. In my mind the ASK21 is the perfect successor (probably the best, most robust trainer available) ! They may lack spinning characteristics, but in my opinion that is no big issue. Justin Craig

OLC Update by Ray Lovinggood
OLC now has a direct way of displaying the flight on Google Earth. Nice! I pulled up Dick Johnson's flight from Friday and then clicked on the Google Earth button and I'm transported instantly to Texas. What will they think of next? Ray Lovinggood Carrboro, North Carolina, USA

ACCESS GRANTED! by GARY BOGGS
The Port of Hood River and the FBO at 4S2 tried to force me out, but I WON! I had to get a lawyer involved, and it took 6 weeks, but we out lasted them, and finally got them to understand that I wasn't going away. When we notified them that every email that they wrote, and every email they...

I got to see another GLIDER in the air! by Grider Pirate
Okay, so most of you probably see others all the time, but I don't! On Saturday I was coming back to my airport (Jean, 0L7) when I spotted another glider near the golf course south of Primm, NV. I was really jazzed to note that it wasn't a Jean glider! A little later I got in touch with him on...

Hobbs 18M/Open Class Nats. Day 6 Tuesday, 6/25 by [email protected]
The dry line is now sitting on or near us so there is a good chance for showers in the task area later today. Good cu, but again, another chance of widespread areas preventing lift. The grid time is earlier and hopeful launch time 11:30 to get pilots back before potential weather. Primary is a...
