Landing on the roads by
Lou
Quite a while ago I read somewhere that in certain areas of
some state the law permits landing on seldom used roads.
Any truth to this? Any printed materials on where and when?

acronym for passenger safety instruction? by
virtuPIC
Recently I came across an acronym to remember what to tell your
passengers before departure. Somehow I remember something like
'SAFETY' - but I cannot find the place where to look up the meaning of
the letters. Could be somewhere in rec.aviation.*, could be in AOPA
Pilot magazine.
Anyone else...

A morning at the airport by
Jay Maynard
This morning was perfect flying weather: winds right down the runway at a
constant six knots or so, with not a cloud in the sky. I called my CFI and
asked if we could go flying, and he agreed. The airplane was already pulled
out of the hangar, fueled and waiting when I got there. We got in, and...

CFI recommendations by
Mike
Hi,
I've been reading this newsgroup for at least a year now and appreciate
the experience and knowledge that everyone (not including trolls)
contributes.
I live in southern NJ and am thinking about scheduling an intro flight
sometime in the near future. There are two airports closeby:...

FAA licenses and currencies by
Momme Mommsen
Hello,
i have a few questions about licenses in the US
Where can i find an overview of the FAA licenses and currencies (VFR & IFR)?
Do you have to extend your licenses, or do you only have to stay current?
Greetings

Airshow Performer Paperwork? by
Jay Honeck
I'm one of the organizers for our annual airshow/fly-in/pancake
breakfast/big kids toy show here in Iowa City. (If you're interested,
see it at www.BigKidsToyShow.com)
They've never had any "airshow" performers at this thing before (it's
been all static displays in the past) but we're thinking...

America's Heart & Soul Movie by
Marco Leon
I think it's pretty cool that they included Patty Wagstaff and flying to
help paint a picture of all that is good in the United States. Man, I
couldn't think of a better representation of freedom than flying. Although
this movie may come across as a long commercial, it's refreshing to see the
media...

Rec.Aviation NorthEast Mini Fly-in by
[email protected]
The weather was perfect for the Rec.Aviation Northeast Mini Fly-in
this morning. Rick and I left KPOU at 10:40am and landed at Skyacres
44N just before 11:00am. Several planes were leaving so we were able
to tie down just outside of the Windsock Cafe. I went inside the
restaurant and immediately...

OT - A slick little diversion from your day by
Jay Honeck
http://www.xeron.org/cosas/bowman/bowmanf.html
My kid showed my this slick little on-line archery game.
It teaches a lot about geometry, a good deal about windage (if you turn on
wind), and it's just gory enough to make the girls go "Eeewwww!"...
Besides, it's good cross-wind training...
