GPS Visualizer update: calculators, new maps & file formats by Adam Schneider
Hi GPS people, I've added a few new features to GPS Visualizer lately -- not as many as I'd like, as I don't have enough free time, but here's a summary: * GEOGRAPHIC CALCULATORS. This is actually separate from GPS Visualizer's mapping functionality. I've put together a page where you can...

Help with instrument wiring by Bill Daniels
I have a Borgelt B50, Volkslogger, and Aero 1550 that I need to get working together. I am powering the PDA with a Goddard PS-5a power supply. I have determined that all the devices are working correctly individually. The GPS data should pass through the B50 which will add vario, airspeed, and...

Legal rights when landing on private property (USA) by 2NO
There was a discussion about this last year, and I'm sure it comes up regularly, but I'd like to get some feedback from pilots with both legal and practical experience regarding one's rights (if any) upon making an emergency landing on private property in the USA. My aroused curiosity stems from...

GPS_LOG freezing and freezing by cernauta
Does anybody have any suggestions for this problem? At the moment I run version 1.2.4.7. NMEA source is my LX-20. I have hard-reset the unit, and installed only GPS_LOG (on a dedicated Ipaq 3130). NMEA sentence is set to RMC, 4800 bps. enjoy the sky Aldo Cernezzi

Does anyone in the UK have any experience of insuring club/individual gliders (3rd party only) offshore of the UK (obviously with the idea of reducing costs but remaining compliant with EASA)

Oxygen equipment by Roger Worden
On the advice of fellow club members I ordered an oxygen-saving cannula, flow meter, and connector to use O2 in a club ship. When I placed the order I was advised by the vendor that regulations require a MASK in the ship, not just a cannula. He mentioned some situations wherein a mask would be...

Missing DG Technical Notes by ContestID67
There are lots of DG technical notes that I would love to see but are not available on line. Some are and some are not. If you look at http://www.dg-flugzeugbau.de/tm-100-e.html only the most recent technical notes are available. Some look very interesting such as 301/09 from 1984 about...

Human factors RECKLESSNESS by private
My apologies to the Usenet police cross posting but I am in mourning for friends lost, and in sympathy for the families they left alone. This week we have seen behavior that can only be described as reckless.

Monroy ADT-200 TPAS by Ramy Yanetz
Anyone has experience with the Monroy ADT-200? It seems to have the best combination of low price ($575), small size, easy and simple to use and install on the glare shield. I tried the Surecheck traffic scope micro which seems to work well but lack one critical feature which is sound/voice alert....

Airbrakes Pop Out at 115 kts by ContestID67
Each time that I exceed approximately 115 knots, my airbrakes partially deploy. They come out about 2 inches (5cm) and I cannot seem to get them to retract unless I reduce my speed, fully deploy them and then retract them. Any ideas? Thanks, John (67R)

Navman 3450 by Doug Snyder
I'm considering the purchase of a Navman 3450 for use with an iPAQ 3765. I want the unit primarily for the auto navigation software. That I can also use it with WinPilot is nice as well. (that way I'll have two GPS's whilst flying) Unfortunately, the user reviews for Navman are not very good....
