18th FG and the 'chicken' patch? by
Uhu219
18th FG comes to mind, but I may be mistaken. What was the unit in Korea that
bugged out to leave it's maintenance personel to the mercy, or lack thereof, of
the advancing North Koreans? They were supposedly from thereon to wear a
squadron patch featuring a chicken on it?
Thanx,
Mick

1925-dirigble target towing by
old hoodoo
I just read that the Shenadoah towed a target for the USS Texas anti-aircraft guns with success. The target was 50' long 10' in
diameter and was peppered by the Texas at 3000 feet. An interesting use for the lighter-than air ship.

1960 pictures of Singapore. Help wanted by
George Bell
I have posted a lot of old pictures of Singapore - taken when I was at
RAF Changi in 1960. I can't remember what the subjects were, or where
they were located, in a lot of cases. Anyone who was there at the time
and who has a better memory could maybe help?

2004 Olympics by
George Z. Bush
In addition to bona fide aviation postings, let's limit our OT stuff to Olympics
results instead of continuing to jiggle the gag reflex with the repetitious
political garbage that continually reappears here. It won't last forever and
will give us a welcome reprieve from the seemingly endless crap...

2D thrust vectoring for the F-35A and F-35C? by
Henry J Cobb
After only six attempts I finally got Global Security to fix the B vs C
confusion on their Joint Strike Fighter page.

But the pic they picked to show the three variants raises a question.
Will the F-35A and F-35C have 2D thrust...
