Homebuilt hot-air airships by
Jim Logajan
One of the desirable mission requirements I've wanted in an aircraft is the
ability to do serious sightseeing by allowing me to pause it in flight and
gaze at things. The problem with fixed-wing aircraft is that you can't stop
or sometimes even slow down enough to get a good long gander at...

Flexible air intake hose by
abripl
I am using 3.5" dia Aeroduct-CAT ducting for a short distance directly
from my intake plenum under my fuselage to the carburetor. The problem
with the CAT is that the wire reinforcing and fabric do not give
radially well, so it transmits some engine vibration to the fuselage.
I would like to find...

Missing .028?? by
mhorowit
I'm looking at my tubing catalog and see 3/4"(.750) having a wall
thickness of .028 and an ID of .694. Now .694 + .028 = .722. I seem to
have lost .028 somewhere!
Anyone have an insight? - Mike

Starship prop blade by

Hi all. I mentioned some months ago that I have a propellor blade from a
Beech Starship, and asked what I could make with it.
How much do you think its worth? it occured to me to take it to the aero
mart at Osh, and sell it there.
Another though was to melt it down and cast some parts for my...

Ok, so it's not an airplane but it is related. I'm going to Oshgosh and
will be camping. Anyone have an idea on how to make my 70db generator
quieter besides not running it?

The bubble shivers in the bullseye of the level as I tap the slider of
the Ohaus triple-beam scale with the eraser-end of a pencil. I'm on
my knees, kneeling before the work-bench in a sweltering shop, both
fans turned off, doors closed, my eye aligned with the scale's
pointer, parallax eliminated...
