Auto Engine Conversion Video by
stol
The first edition of my video is up on the net. There is one glitch
that I can't seem to figure out. At 14.40 into it the video locks up.
For some reason the progress arrow that moves under the pic outruns
the fed data. I have been able to view the second half of the video by
simply taking the...

Anyone have experience with InterAv alternator by
flyer
We have one in our Glasair and I have never been really impressed
with it's output. Seems to run around 13.1 volts most of the time
except for
right after engine start. The ammeter does indicate a net flow of
current INTO the battery. That might seem all right but when I start
putting...

FAA form 337? by
Paul Lee
Some equipment I installed mentions form 337 - for example VOR/LOC/GS receiver,
IFR GPS, etc., Is 337 required in a new kit project? It is for "Major repairs
and alterations".
Or does the DAR approve the whole package together?
Please advise any required...

tube and fabric and outdoor storage by
Robert Loer
Can not possibly afford a hanger and can not find a shelter so my plane will
have to sit out. Is a fabric covered plane an absolute no-no? What can be
done?

Xantus vtol??? by
R-U-N
A while back the Xantus vtol 4 place kit was looking pretty cool. Now
they seem to have disapeared. Anyone know what happened? Their web
site www.vtol1.com is now a lame place holder site and has been since
around late last year. I couldn't find any info as to what happened
to them.

The National Lake Eutrophication Survey 1971-1973 by
Badwater Bill
The following is to the best of my recollection. I haven't even
changed the name of a buddy I was with during these events. I may be
wrong about some of the statistics, like the number of divorces and
number of hot babes in the restaurants, but I'm close. Almost none of
this is an exageration...

Right wing extremist large aircraft threaten our lives... by
Jim Logajan
There's a big deal being made about DHS issuing a warning profiling pretty
much anyone who desires smaller federal government. I was reading some of
the angry blogs and found an interesting tie-in to aviation. On the
following web site, there is a link to a video about mid-page titled "Janet...

Weight of a Harley Evo / Twin-cam 88 for aircraft? by
Wright1902Glider
Anyone know what this type of engine weighs? I know that hog-air claims 200
lbs, but that's with a starter, PSRU (PRSU?), exhaust, etc. I'm wondering what
the engine itself weighs with its standard starter, and nothing else. Any
bikers in here have a spare engine and a scale?
My much-discussed...

The earth pulls down on the plane... by
Alan Baker
....and the plane pulls up on the earth.
The air pushes up on the plane and the plane pushes down on the air;
essentially transferring the earth's continuous flow of downward
momentum acting on the plane to a much greater mass of air.
That air keeps that downward momentum, diffusing it through...

Real time continuous Prop balancing by
abripl
This thread is not about how to balance a prop or shop balancing
machines.
Did anyone use BalanceMasters device bolted on their ultralight prop?
These devices apparently balance the prop continuously as you fly.
Similar devices are used on truck wheels - see www.BalanceMasters.com
and...

One coat paint for aluminum? by
[email protected]
Howdy,
I'm building a Savannah, and I want to keep the weight down. I'm only
planning to paint some odd shapes on the plane and leave the rest bare
aluminum. Since the plane is a simple, crude little creature, I can't see
spending a bunch of time and money on these paint accents.
So my question...

28 volt pitot heat by
B2431
Will running a 28 volt pitot tube heat on 12 volts heat it enough to use? I
keep seeing 28 volt pitot tubes on e-bay and was wondering if they would do the
job.

had built which I thought that some readers here might find...

REQ: Narco Superhomer Photo by
RST Engineering
Does anybody have a digital photo in fairly high res of an old Narco
Superhomer that they would be willing to copy to me for an article I'm doing
for both Oshkosh forum and a Kitplanes column? A VC-27Z would do just as
well. If you've got a good photo and can upload it to your web page...
