Lightspeed -- Was:Oshkosh 2003 Redux by
Jack McAdams
Everything was trimmed!! (-;
Counterpoint to the Lightspeed QA 'issue':
I have a 20XL and a 30XL. Both have performed flawlessly from the day
I got them. Maybe I'm just lucky, but that never happens! To be fair,
I don't listen to music in the air so I am unqualified to comment on
the audio...

I just bought X-Plane and want to share my experience by
Bruce Shankle
Dear fellow aviation enthusiasts,
I recently purchased X-Plane and had such an interesting experience that
I thought I'd share (see http://home.nc.rr.com/bshankle/xplane.html).
I am curious if any of you have had an experience anywhere close to mine?
Sincerely,
Bruce Shankle

Single-rotor Mazda engines.... any flying our there? by
Pete
I am toying with teh idea of using a single-rotor turbo-normalized mazda
with reduction-drive and was wondering if there are any builders out there
who have checked out the same possibility? I'm only looking for around
100-120 hp, with weight an obvious consideration.
The only name I have heard of...

Badwater Bill by
Ed
I did know Bill personally and always found him a facinating
character. Every time I did post to rah Bill would always simply reply
" I thought you was dead" I'll really miss him.

First, what are the odds of getting C-FWUT (Challenger) at PHL going
to Flying W and getting C-FWTT (Pitts) at Flying W. Lots of planes as
usual, so here they are.

Info on a P-51 mustang called "Spare Parts" by
eg
I am trying to get some information on a P-51 mustang called "Spare Parts".
My wifes grandfather worked on this plane while he was in WWII. Said it was
his favorite airplane. He was a mechanic and help build this plane from
three that were damaged. I am an amature artist and would like to make...

Fuel System Musings, comments encouraged by
flybynightkarmarepair
My blog has become a way for me to think out loud about my project.
Putting things down in a narrative helps me crystallize my thoughts,
and give me something to refer back to when the time comes to move
from thinking to doing.
Anyway, I've been THINKING about my fuel system, and have put down...

Problems with Rapco dry vacuum pumps. by
abripl
Just a warning for those who might consider purchasing Rapco dry vacuum
pumps. Make sure that your engine does not leak oil. If there is any
chance of an oil drip onto the Rapco vacuum pump it may eventually stop
working. The connecting shaft is vented to air. But if some oil drops
on the shaft it...

comm's RX antenna by
acepilot
I assume you are putting an antenna on the OUTSIDE of the van. If this
is the case, there is no such thing as too big a groundplane. If you
are putting the antenna inside, then it is probably more easily
understood that all that metal will be a shield to RF. I would
recommend getting a 1/4...

Motion Detector Lights Also Can Improve Your Homes by

It is a practical technological innovation for motion detector lights that drastically improve the safety of your home. And they are very cost-effective.
There are many effective mechanisms with motion sensor lights but the most common being technology is the PIRs (passive infrared). Since human...

Limbach or Stamo engine parts by
[email protected]
I'm curious if anyone has had experience getting parts for these
engines in the US? How difficult, how much time did it take and how
expensive? I'm specifically looking at their use in motorgliders (which
I'm actively looking for a Scheibe or Fournier, Vivat, or something
similar).
Regards,
Ryan...

Getting auto gas at airports by
Patrick Underwood
There seem to be a lot of people using auto engines on their
homebuilts. I am a low-time student pilot so pardon me if this is a
stupid question, but do many airports have autogas available at their
pumps?
If you're doing cross-country flights, seems like it would be a huge
problem if your...

Need a ride from Milwauke to OshKosh by
Steve Ruse
Some of my friend's plans fell through so I'm having to make some
changes to my OshKosh plans. I'll be flying into Milwaukee on
Wednesday evening, & flying out of Milwaukee on Sunday. That leaves me
about 90 miles from all the fun though. Is anyone heading my way with
an extra seat (car or plane)...
