LX5000 vs LX7000 by [email protected]
Since I’m on a tear asking things I always wondered about (it’s snowy here) I’ve always wondered what the difference is between the last version of the LX5000 and the LX7000? Was it a marketing decision or were there actual improvements?

Dynamic Soaring by AS
Ran across this link showing a RC glider being flown at 548mph (882km/h)! The video is dizzying to watch and one can barely follow the glider going through 120g turns. Would be cool if we could replicate this in a more survivable way for the pilot and glider. I know it has been done in the past but...

Curious about PZL KWEC-2 TE compensators by [email protected]
I’ve seen these described as an option where you don‘t want to share the TE probe between two varios. However, I can’t find details on them. I’m just curious about how they work (the theory) and how they are plumbed? I know most would use TE probe for one vario and electronic compensation...

How Have Our Soaring Vendors Fared? by Semantics Michael
The sport of soaring is, of course, a relatively small community and what might impact our suppliers and dealers can affect us all. Curious as to how the US and non-US suppliers have fared so far during the pandemic. In any case, may 2021 bring them a better New Year!

GOAT ASW20 by [email protected]
Modern sailplanes have evolved through the years and many older have lasted the test of time. During the 1970's Schelicher produced what I call the, "Greatest Of All Time", the ASW20. Production began around 1977 and immediately sailplane pilots were joining the ranks of owning the sleek beautiful...

First glider Nimbus 2 ? by Surge
A Nimbus 2 is on the market which I'm interested in as my first glider and I'd like some feedback from those who've owned or flown one. I do realize that a flapped, long winged glider is not the best choice for a low time pilot which is why I will keep the glider in a hangar while I first build up...
