For the recordZZZZZJJJJJJ by
ChuckSlusarczyk
For those who have been following the conn case. Here's the latest from the
court concerning the case. It says what I've been saying all along that I was
not responsible personally for conns deposit to the old company. Just more
"proof positive" that zoom and jaun are not credible sources of info....

Hydraulic CS prop converting to Adjustable prop? by
Scott VanderVeen
There was mention a while back about a hydraulic CS prop was converted to an
adjustable prop. What would be necessary for that? An electric hydraulic
pump and a valve/controller?

fabric and tube by the ocean. by
Ed Bryant
Hello All.
I'm contemplating building a float plane - west coast of Canada. I've flown
mostly C-180 and C-185 on floats, so I have a pre-conception that aluminum
is a good material for the salt water environment. Murphy's a good choice
and local too. I like Zenair's 801 as well.
Been intrigued...

Chrome Moly shortage by
Mr Nobody
Aircraft Spruce said that the only supplier of chrome moly just went out
of business. There may be a new company coming on line early in 2004.
But right now the prices are skyrocketing and availability is dropping.
It is likely that even with a new company making it the prices will be...

IVO props... comments.. by
Dave S
I am involved with the building of a velocity, and questions are flying
around about propeller choice. For in-flight adjustable, we are limited
at this time to an electric control, such as MT or IVO. Cost is pushing
our options in this area towards the IVO.
I have heard of some vibration/resonance...

RV-8 Dimension request by
Howard Johnson
Hello,
Can someone help me out and confirm that the horizontal stabilizer /
elevator of an RV-8 at it widest point is just under 9 feet?
I'm setting up my shop and was surprised to see that the preview plans
don't have those sorts of dimensions on any of the drawings. I did
find a Three View...

Diesel engines- forced induction, power-weight by
Jay
From what I understand, the low power to weight ratio of diesel
engines has been the main limiting factor for their adoption into
small planes (and passenger cars for that matter). The reason for the
high weight as it was explained to me was that the high compression
used for an auto-ignition type...

Ideas for shipping a fiberglass cowling.... by
Bart D. Hull
I need to get a fiberglass cowling from Williston, FL 32696 to
Tempe, AZ 85283 (Cowling would fit in a 45"W x 40"L x 40"H box.
Forward Air has gone nuts with their shipping rates. (Over $400)
so I'm looking for better ideas.

Apollo stuff - last chance by

I just wanted to give RAHers one last chance to buy Apollo (UPSAT,
GARMINAT, whatever you want to call them) avionics at a deep discount.
I will be closing my account Christmas day. Most stuff is about
25-30% off, more on some, less on others. About $1k off an SL30, $3k
off a CNX-80. Whole...

Using Balsa wood by

In many area's on my wood structure it calls for a filler. Usually
spruce, but for no other reason but to fill a gap. These are not
structural in the least, only to fill (i.e. on top of the spar a 1/4"
strip of wood to keep the plywood skin from saging in between the wing
ribs). Has anyone used...
