Flew @ my new school yesterday by

Which of the SAN area airports are you flying out of?
I've operated out of all of them and even a few that are no longer in
existence. Some that very few even remember! Like Peaks Airport very
near where Cudahy Slough is in Mission Bay, or down in Chula
Vista...and I think you can still see one of...

Flew an R44 Raven II today... by
joe
Have you priced the insurance on the 44? Thats what killed my dreams.
Joe
I'd been kicking around the idea of going in halves with a co-worker
on an R22 but now that I've flown the 44, I don't think I want to go
back to the 22s.. Anyone got $150k I can have???

Flew with a Robinson factory pilot today.. by

Hi Kevin,
You didn't say, but I'm assuming that you were
flying a R22, and not the R44. I've only done
about 3 autos in the R22, but what you are saying
makes sense to me, and was also the way I was
taught. As long as you don't let the rotor RPM
get into the red, you are fine, and the...

heli flying - which would be more fun/useful Schweizer 300C or a Bell 47G by
Charles Morrice
You are comparing apples and oranges. A Schweizer is still in production
and parts/support available; a G is long out of production and parts are
harder and harder to find.
If you want to fly lots rather than drive an antique a Schweizer is for you.
In my humble opinion.

Freak accident, considering the timing of the speed of helicopter, the
height and the speed of the falling load and the speed of the tramcar.
What are the odds?

and my best wishes for the pilot and his family. A tragedy for...
