strange ILS indicator problem by

here's the configuration:

On the SL30, the left-right indicator displays correctly when in cruise
and it detects a VOR.
On the MC60, the left-right displays correctly when in cruise and it
detects a VOR.
On the MC60, the glideslope indicator displays...

Post Annual Report by
Jack Allison
It's been a few weeks since picking up the Arrow from the annual
inspection. In short, the *required repairs* cost far less this year
than last.
The only significant airworthiness issue was a crack in the lower wing
skin, just forward of the spar and where the wing connects to the
fuselage. ...

Antenna for a GX55 by
Travis Marlatte
Does anybody have a working antenna for an Apollo GX55 that I can borrow for
a week or two. I'm having an intermitent problem and I'd like to eliminate
the antenna. As far as I can tell, it can be either one of the original A-33
(square) or A-34 (teardrop) or the Comant 420-220 (teardrop). All I...

Sticky Dipstick -- PA28 by
Don Tuite
As MO, I've taken to warning club members not to tighten the dipsstick
on the '74 Challenger even slightly. Even a little extra torque makes
it very difficult to unscrew. Last week somebody torqued the entire
plastic tube off the engine just loosening the dipstick.
Something's goofy. What?

Century 2000 altitude hold issue... by
Dico
Hello All,
Just the past couple flights we've had an issue with the altitude hold
-- it doesn't work anymore. When pressed, the plane pitches up to
about 1500ft/min climb rate.
After flying around for 10 minutes and trying it again the plane would
only pitch up about 500' per min. After about...

Software to write to PCMCIA datacards? by
Charles[_1_]
I'd like to update the database for my Apollo GX55 GPS. $120 for the
raw data is bad enough, but Jeppesen also wants $150 for a writer. The
datacard is a PCMCIA card, so wouldn't it be possible to work with it
with a plain old laptop or a $10 reader from Best Buy? I'm wondering
if someone has...

Different plane, same fix by
Jay Honeck
When we flew our '75 Warrior, it developed a problem with the
alternator going off-line in flight. This was preceeded by the
ammeter needle bouncing crazily and finally pegging at 60 amps.
I fixed that problem by spending an hour tracing all the electrical
lines, and tightening connections. The...

XM weather de-activation with Garmin 396/496 by
Paul kgyy
I have a PDA-based XM weather process that spontaneously de-activates
periodically (and of course I don't find out until I fire up the
receiver in the airplane).
Are any 396/496 users having this problem?
What about Flight Cheetah users?

KAP 140 trouble by

The B/K KAP 140 autopilot in my 2006 Cessna T-182T has a problem that is
baffling the avionics shop. The altitude capture/hold function does not work.
Here are the symptoms:
o All other functions work, including +/- vertical speed control.
o It will accept and correctly execute a...

PA24 Comanche - alternator belt "flipped" in flight by
SBC News
1962 PA24 just annualed and a new alternator belt was fitted as prop was
removed. The new belt looks different from the old, but the part number (I
am told) was supposed to be matched/equivalent. The new belt has "teeth" as
it were. The old one was just a standard tapered belt with smooth...
