landing gear interface. by
Steve Franklin
Hi there..
I have no idea about aviation so excuse me if this is a dumb question.
Why is that on planes the landing gear:
a) has such an unique interface relative to the other avionics. E.g Why the
long handle?
b) What is the purpose of the wheel at the end of the landing gear arm?

BFR.. define "rated". by
Dave S
Pinging the group for an answer here.
Scenario: Up for flight review, elect to have instruction in a
taildragger for the purpose of the flight review. Have a PP-ASEL, but do
NOT have a one time endorsement in tailwheel aircraft that permits one
to be PIC.
The regs say you must take the flight...

Live Airport Traffic Monitoring by
Mark T. Dame
The Passur AirportMonitor (http://www.passur.com/sites.htm) is pretty
cool, but unfortunately my area isn't covered by any of the available
installations. Does anyone know of a similar service that covers the
Cincinnati area?
Thanks.

Private Pilot's License by
Vern Torino
Haven't begun any training yet. Still considering time and cost factors. One
problem is my job will only avail me to fly every other week, so I figure
it'll take me at least the better part of a year to get licensed. My
question is, after licensing what would be a likely minimum flight time...

tell me about a career in aviation without a medical by
buttman
I'm pursuing a career in aviation, but there are something in my life
that have sort of been a sort of slow train coming during in the past
10 years or so. I think it is finally time I take care of these things,
and as a result, I will most likley be put on medication that will void
my medical...

Flying into JFK Airport (New York City) - Looking for advice by
Peter R.
My father will be traveling via JetBlue in a couple of weeks. His
itinerary contains a four hour layover at JFK airport. Rather than let him
sit there for the four hours on a Tuesday evening, I am considering flying
my Bonanza into JFK to pick him up.
Does anyone have any GA advice or experience...

Audio from JetBlue 292 by

Some of the audio from 292 is starting to pop up. I found this podcast
that had recorded some of the conversation between the pilot, dispatch,
and maintenance.

aviation helping people get out of the Houston Area ? by
John Doe
How is the aviation industry, both commercial and GA helping people get out
of the Houston area?
Have airlines surgered flights and changed to larger airplanes to get more
people out of the airports that are waiting in line? I'd expect to see
nothing but the largest aircraft on the ramp loading...

Airport Cafe by

At other times, in other restaurants, he would be the guy to be studiously

Flying clubs in Oakland or Concord? by
[email protected]
I just moved up to Berkeley, CA to attend grad school. Before that, I
lived in Silicon Valley and flew out of Palo Alto. I've been flying
with a club there, Sundance, since '99 or so and I've been pretty
happy.
But the drive to KPAO from Berkeley is a bit long. I'm looking to see
if anybody has...
