Why are the F-14 squadrons currently removing the plate covering the
refueling probe?
I'm assuming they're ripping off in the slipstream or something, but
wouldn't it make more sense, since they're employed by the Federal
Gov't., to have some type of really expensive beefing-up kit to bolt
them on...

Hi all
Does anyone have any information on the current status and / or , a
photo , of the Ha1112 that is owned by Bill Anderson of the 1941
Historic Aircraft Group ? It was supposedly rebuilt to represent a

What is the history and meaning behind the work "MARK" to designate military
equipment ? The web site www.designation-systems.net says the Navy uses
the Mark - Mod nomenclature but doesn't say what the significance or meaning
of the word "Mark" is. Does anybody know ?
