OSH - the chair thing by
Montblack
A little longish - sorry.
Oshkosh question from a first timer: Staying at the dorm, will have car
available - if needed.
I want to sit on a (2) regular stackable plastic deck chairs and watch
planes depart after the air show, etc - I heard this is the real show g.
Two chairs works good for me,...

OSH - Home Again by
Mike Adams
We made it home successfully yesterday from our first Oshkosh adventure. It
was a great experience and we look forward to going again. We arrived last
Sunday afternoon, had Monday to get settled in the North 40 and 3 days at the
show, departing Friday.
We left mid-morning under overcast skies, and...

OSH '05 Comments by
PPT33R
Another great OSH. The number and quality of the exhibits seems to
improve each year. I especially like the Miller Welding trailer. My
girlfriend even got to play with the plasma cutter, and she liked it
(maybe helping me justify a future purchase ;-)...
We met the MotoArt guys (from the now...

Orlando area airports by
dave
I may have an opportunity to fly to Orlando from KLOM this weekend and
stay for a few days. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to stay
long enough to get to sun & fun. Any recommendations on airports that
have access to rental cars and reasonable parking fees?
Thanks
Dave

Oregon vacation report (really long) by
JJS
The wife and I just back from our Oregon vacation that you helped us plan. You guys did a wonderful job.
Day 1: Left OKC on a Canadair regional jet to Phoenix. Boarded a 737 whose APU wouldn't start. 107 degrees on the
tarmac and no AC. And we left our Cherokee at home why? Oh well. Landed...

Ordering the 337; what do these numbers mean? by
Michael Horowitz
During the process of ordering the 337 information for an aircraft I"m
looking at, under "Number of Pages" it shows "Registration - 140" and
"Airworthiness - 66".

OQO Handtop computer for flight display. by
Guy Byars
I am thinking of putting a oqo handtop computer on my panel to display a
moving map and WX data from an XM receiver. Has anyone tried out the oqo in
the cockpit? How does it work? How do you power it? Can it be seen in the
daylight?

Options After Items Flagged as Unairworthy (was TBO and Airworthiness) by
JB
(I decided to move this to a separate thread since its a bigger issue
than engine TBO.)
Matt...I read the Avweb article. The author correctly notes that
whether its a car or plane, you should always insist on seeing or
discussing the problems with the mechanic so there are no surprises
later....

Opinions Wanted - Arrow, Archer, 182, 177RG, Early 210's by
Larryskydives
I am slling my 1956 172, and will be in the amrket to purchase another plane.
I am really leaning towards a 1968 - 1970 Arrow. However , have seen a couple
of Archers that look interesting. Having a highwing I am partial to them -
what are the thoughts on early 210's (money pits?). I have also...

Opinions on TEK Aircraft Services? by
G.R. Patterson III
Anyone had experiences good or bad with TEK Aircraft Services in Rio Grande, NJ?
I'm thinking of taking my plane down there for some work and an annual. They seem
to be nice people.

Opinions on Cessna 340, 414 and 421 by
john szpara
I'm considering buying a plane, and have decided to go with a twin. I
understand that there will be more maintenance costs over a single,
but I like the safety margin of the second engine. I also like the
idea of pressurization, because we have some high mountains out here
on the west coast. It...

Opinions on AOPA's Vref program please by
Jim Carter
I'm starting to narrow down my target aircraft and just today started
looking at them through Vref at the same time. I'd like to read your
opinions of that pricing service - both good and bad - and any
suggestions you might have as to other pricing tools that worked for
you.
BTW, the target will...

Opinions on a M20J by
Jon Kraus
http://www.aso.com/i.aso/AircraftView.jsp?aircraft_id=84399
I flew this yesterday and it was nice (but what the hell do I know) He
is asking 105k but Vref says it is worth $113k. That seemed high but
again what do I know. Any Mooney owners out there want to give an
opinion on the M20J? Thanks in...

Opinions on 1981 172P - First Airplane by
[email protected]
I know everyone has an opinion... and I'd like to hear some of them!
I'm a first time buyer, and I've come across a 172P for sale at a
local airport. Its a 1981, 4000TTAF, 1700SMOH. No GPS, standard
avionics (digital radios, 720CH, ADF, Audio Panel, Xpndr) No damage
history and a current annual...

Opinion on club share by
Paul Folbrecht
I am considering this:
1/13th share in '97 172R. GPS. 2200TT, couple hundred hours on a new
engine.
Buy-in: $3800
Dues: $150/month flat plus $38/hr wet for time.
It seems like a pretty good deal to me. The aircraft is immaculate and
makes the 20+ year-old 152s I've been driving seem like.....

Operating cost: C421 PA31 an BE58 by
Jarema
If my boss buy a plane I would be prospective pilot on it. He thinks
about cabin class twin or BE58. After fast research we together decided
to choose from:
- Cessna 421C
- Piper Navajo
- Beech 58 Baron.
Could you give me example operating cost?
Would it be difficult to buy insurance for low time...

OOPS! Got contact cement on the windshield by
Mike Rapoport
I managed to get some 1300L contact cement on the windshield of my Helio
Courier while reattaching the vinyl to the glareshield. Does anyone know if
I can use "adhesive remover" on an acrylic windshield without causing
crazing? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
