Speaking of moving stupf around by
David Lesher
I was awaiting departure from BWI and glanced up from my place on
the floor in the SWA queue. What first caught my attention was it
was high wing. What REALLY grabbed me away from my book was the
1,2,3,4,5 FIVE bogies on the main gear.
It turned and parked, and we taxied by it 30 minues later. It...

Capt A. C. Fiedler 325FG by
RobbelothE
According to my source, while piloting a P-51, a Capt A. C. Fiedler brought
down a Bf 109 near Ploesti in June 1944 using his service revolver. Does anyone
know the details on this? A Google search found only two hits, neither had any
relevant information. TIA.

80 JDAM82s by
Tony
We were BS'ing the other day about the B-2 bombers ability to drop 80 GPS
guided 500 pounders at one go and what could be done with that capability.
I noted that you could actually draw simple cartoons with 80 bomb craters.
One of the guys suggested a smiley face.
I thought that was a bit over the...

Hornet down @ RDU, pilot OK by
John S. Shinal
F-18 lost power during takeoff at Raleigh NC's RDU airport,
and ended up in a burning pile beside runway 2L - pilot ejected OK,
apparently unhurt.
Hornet is still burning like hell, despite a huge amout of
foam, no injuries on the ground, and a few airliners have taken off
since the accident.

Future of DMAFB by
Slapshot
Any news floating around out there regarding the future of Davis-Monthan?
With the A-10's slated to be retired, local media has mentioned that it will
become an F-22 base in the next few years. However, I can find no follow up
information to confirm this.
Also have heard that the EC-130's will be...
