Seems in the news, a USAF C-5 Galaxy was hit by a unkown missile over Baghdad, it then landed due to USAF reasons "was a excessive noise vibrations in a engine" - no mention of missile at all when first published. Some noise vibrations eh?, imagine if it was shot down? USAF PR would describe it...

Pearl Harbor Defense by Dave
I have always wondered how the attack would have played out if the Americans had correctly interpreted the reading from the Army radar site on the north tip of Oahu. The attacking Japanese planes were picked up at a range of 132 miles at 7 o'clock Sunday morning. The radar operators phoned the...

Did the Germans have the Norden bombsight? by Cub Driver
Reading what appears to be a solid history of FDR and espionage. Author makes the flat statement that in 1940 someone in the Norden plant smuggled out the plans, which went to Germany. From these, the Germans "developed their own bombsight," presumably based on the Norden. The author points out the...

Douglas Pitcairn, Luftwaffe Pilot by JDupre5762
I have recently learned about Douglas Pitcairn a Luftwaffe pilot who flew with the Condor Legion in Spain. The article didn't describe how someone with such an English sounding name ended up in Spain. At first I thought he might be an English volunteer for Franco but since the Condor Legion was...
