"Interesting" NY Times Article by
Steve R.
That's an interesting one. Thanks for sharing.
I'm curious why they can't account for the hours flown. The article
indicates that they don't have data on past hours flown so they can't
speculate whether or not the increase in accidents has anything to do with
an increased number of hours flown...

You guys missed a good one. by
Stu Fields
Central Sierra Helicopter Meet was a grand success. There were a couple of
R-44s, several R-22s, Two Bell 47s and two Jet Rangers. With all of the
certified clutter out of the way, there were two helicycles flying, several
under construction showing the various aspects, a Mosquito flying all...

Helicopters? by
Ol Shy & Bashful
I confess. I'm a rotor winged whore. In spite of the degredation of
this board and the slipping of standards, I keep hoping for things to
improve. Perhaps that is the mantra for a helicopter pilot?
Damn that just made me laugh. Maybe I am good for something after all?
Why has this NG gone south?...

Can't find a way to edit the simple minded ******* who has the hard on
for Belfort so I am getting out of this group. You'll find me on the
alternate board at Just Helicopters.

Brien
What is the angle of the blade at the tip of a UH-1 in Autorotation. Is this
angle somewhat the same for most Helicopters?

Gyro Rotor Wing Toy Kite by
Tha RagMan
A Google search didn't turn up anything so let me appeal direct. Some
years ago I saw a vendor selling a little plastic toy gyrocopter at a
PRA Fly-In that flew much like a kite in the wind at the end of a
line. Over the next couple years I saw the same toy at EAA events such
as Lakeland and...

Groen Bros. by
Al Colunio
Hi. I have been lurking lately. I have an interest in Gyroplanes (not enough
money for helicopters). Does anyone have any comments about the new gyro kit
that the groen bros are introducing, or is it to early to tell much. Thanks
for any info.

Future of Surveillance/Attack Helicopters by
Dave Jackson
Hundreds of small low-cost UAV helicopters are located at dozens of secure
sites, within an area of conflict. When required, a remote pilot, who may
be located thousands of miles away, will cause a number of these helicopters
to takeoff and fly to separate GPS coordinates.
The remote pilot may...

Anyone have any experience of Helicopter Adventures, Florida? by
Simon Robbins
I'm looking into (financial) alternatives to doing my CPL(H) training in the
UK. Heli Adventures offer a JAA course in Florida (plus FAA and a work visa
for a year afterwards, which may or may not be useful). Anyone have any
direct experience of them?
