A Jet Blue Aircraft Landing with Sideway Landing-Gear by
Hansi
This is great footage from the landing of a Jet-Airplane by JET BLUE
with Landing-Gear Problems. The Landing-Gear is positioned sideways. It
is amazing to me what this tires and axles can withstand without
falling apart and the pilot is doing a great job too...

lightning maps by
Jose
I seem to remember live lightning maps being available, similar to radar
maps but showing lightning strikes. However I can't find them. It
seems they would be quite useful for preflight, and as an onboard
weather too. Anybody know where these are (or if I'm just misremembering?)

747 Lawnmower ?..............Yes, this is real, a flying Lawnmower by
Hansi
If you up there in the Cockpit, look out of the window and see an
Lawnmower, don't be alerted, you are not crazy. They now have flying
Lawnmowers. The same group of Hobby-ingenieurs also developed a flying
doghouse and working on a flying Washmachine and a flying...

who does VOR "calibration" for most accurate VOR approaches? by
Greg
Hi,
I recently learned that VOR can be "calibrated" or adjusted to take
into account any error discovered at the 30-day check. For example, if
you need to set OBS at 44 to get centered CDI on the 42 radial from VOR
on airport checkpoint, and 219 to center CDI on the 222 radial, then
you record the...

Brad
Peter wrote:
Hi All,
This is for an N-reg aircraft.
Aircraft: a standard piston single.
P1 seat: a pilot legal to be PIC under VFR.
P2 seat: a pilot legal to be PIC under IFR (but no CFI/CFII rating).

Puget Sound -- Eugene, OR Routing Q by
[email protected]
Last weekend I flew IFR Paine to Eugene. I filed V23, but was cleared
to the west along OLM V165 UBG V495 CVO EUG. Similar routing for the
return flight. I asked each controller (except Seattle Approach) for
vectors EUG direct when able, but each controller said they needed to
keep me on the...

Commercial Rating Question by
Dane Spearing
Do the two VRF cross country trips required for the commercial rating (2 hrs,
100 nm min, one day, one night) have to be dual? FAR 61.129(a)(3) seems to
imply that it should be dual in the statement:
"20 hours of training on the areas of operation listed in 61.127(b)(1) of
this part that includes...

GNS 430 - cities in flight plan? by
DBn
Is it possible to use cities as waypoints in flight plan and how?
The only way I can make a city as a waypoint is by using panning function on
the map - point to the city and then press "direct to" key.
Or it is some kind of safety feature - not to alloud to use cities as
waypoints?

VFR on top question by
A Lieberman
Scenario 1....
Severe clear weather from point A to point B going east. MRA is 7000 in
which part of this area is below ATC radar coverage from past experience.
Highest OROCA enroute is 2600, filing is direct from airport to airport.
If I filed "VFR on top" /G for 3500, would I be legal to...

I passed the checkride, now need a good GPS and passenger headset by

YIPPEE! I'm now a private pilot!
I took and passed, the private pilot checkride on Tuesday.
What a relief! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought I'd
be, and went very well.
Now I need an aviation GPS and 'Guest Headset', and I'm
hoping that readers of this list will have recommendations
