Winter 80mm vario by
Steve
We would like to replace the current vario in our 1-26 and wonder if
anyone has a Winter 80mm vario in knots that they would be interested
in selling?
Thanks,
Steve Vihlen

Winter Airpspeed Repair by
James Hamilton
If you are flying an experimental glider, you can get
your Winter Airspeed Indicator repaired at The Gyro
House in Auburn, CA (they are located on the Auburn
Airport). They cannot give you a 'certificate' that
is issued for using the instrument in normal category
aircraft. I had mine repaired by...

Winter Airspeed Indicator Overhaul? by
Frank[_1_]
Hi,
I have a Winter ASI, marked for my Ventus 2bx, and I'd like to get it
repaired/overhauled. Anyone know where I can get this done? Do I
need to contact the factory, or is there a U.S. source?

Winter altimeter error by
bumper
My Winter 57 mm 20,000 ft altimeter reads about 200 ft high when entering
the barometric pressure in the Kholsman window. Some altimeters have a screw
adjust for this. Anyone know how this is done on the Winter?
thanks,
bumper

I need to have my Winter altimeter repaired. Is there a place in the US that will work on Winter altimeters or do I need to send it back to the factory?

Winter ASI Repair in US? by
Papa3[_2_]
I see a couple of old threads suggesting that Winter ASIs need to go back to Germany for repair and recalibration. One of the ASIs in our Grob 103 is reading 8-10kts low vs two known good units. Anyone had any luck with a shop in the US? Otherwise, it's off the the Fatherland with this...

Our club has been cleaning out a lot of accumulated treasurers. We
discovered we have 2 Winter Barographs, in breifcases, with some assortment
of champor and other supplies. We no longer use them - no one can remember
the last time one was used, let alone calibrated.
We will sell them for...

Winter Care by
Ron Gleason
For many or most of us, winter is here and the gliders are parked for a number of months. I have removed every battery from the cockpit, put mouse poison in the trailer and taken out anything that should not freeze (waxes, plexi-glass cleaners etc).
What is the best way store glider batteries,...

Winter Flying in the USA by
[email protected]
Check out som excellent mid winter flights on the eastern ridges today
on OLC . A couple of flights close to 600km . Also some good 200km +
cross country flights in other areas of the country. Goes to show
what's possible even in mid winter if you look for the opportunities .
