Plane wings by
[email protected]
I have heard talk about that under stress testing of airplanes (eg. big
Boing machines), they bend the wings so much that they touch each
otherover the airplane?
Has anybody seen such photos, or is this just a lie?

"Head Down" found harmful by
Andrew Gideon
I found this somewhat amusing, as it speaks of Head Down *driving* (ie.
driving while futzing with the GPS).

Australian Air Safari ?? by
Tri-Pacer
Has anyone any knowledge of an "Australian Air Safari" where pilots and
their families rent light aircraft and go on a guided tour around the
country?
As I understand it, several planes are led from place to place by a local
guide.
I had heard about this several years ago. Supposedly, the company...

I lost my medical, what do I do? by
buttman
I'm a CFI with a first class medical issued 6/15/05. I began taking a
banned medication (celexa) about a week ago. I have not flown since I
started the drugs, and I don't plan on returning until the medication
stops (the doc said that may not be for another 6-12 months). When I
"get back" will my...

St Louis PIREP -- Long by
Jay Honeck
Four days off, decent flying weather, and a desire to escape winter. Does
this sound like aviation heaven, or what?
Well, two out of three ain't bad. Our plan to fly to the Hangar Hotel in
Texas (which was 81 degrees last week) was shot down by a giant arctic cold
front that rammed 10 degree...

Knee Jerks by
[email protected]
Why is it everytime someone posts an accident, there are those who
quickly make a decision or pronouncement that it was stupid, or the
pilot was a moron, or, etc, etc, and never have a clue as to the real
happenings?
Why does it take well trained professional crash investigators to do a
full...

Hayward Air Race by
Gary Waldeck
How good are YOU with a map, E6B and a stopwatch?
The Hayward Air Race is going to be held on May 18-21.
It is a graded, precision event much like a road rally, except we do it in
airplanes. The event is run in two legs. From Hayward, CA to Bakersfield,
CA and from Bakersfield to Laughlin, NV. ...

Hearing Aids by
Casey Wilson
Anybody here use them? Care to share a PIREP?
Age and ignorance has caught up with me. I'm due for my next medical in
April and I'm trying to decide between the BTE or ITE model. Oh, that's
behind-the-ear or in-the-ear. I'm in a trial period and can choose between
them.
Both models have a switch...
