Tank pressure for Speedaire compressor? by
Michael Horowitz
Someone gave me a Speedaire Model 3Z394 airtank.
I know nothing about its integrity or working pressure.
1. If you own such a model, could you tell me the max safe tank
pressure?
2. How can I determine if the tank (which as some rust on the outside)
still has its integrity? - Mike

Bucking bar and vice by
mhorowit
New to riveting here.
Reading on basics show the impact on the manufactured head is
transmitted along the rivet and forces the bucking bar off the
bucktail. It then slams back, causing the rivet shaft to begin to
deform.
Because the bucking bar needs to move, does this mean it can not be
clamped...

Finding Time by

"Where do you find the time?"
That's one of the more common questions I'm asked. Probably the best
answer is that I don't watch TV. Oh, we've got one -- great big thing
the kids bought for us, mostly so they could watch the Bowl games when
they come over to visit during the holidays. We watch...

O200 titan cylinders by
Philippe Vessaire[_3_]
Hello,
I just receive today my new cylinder assy set.
I see a plus on the intake port (perhaps 1/8NPT). Original continental
cylinders don't have this hole and plug.
what may be the fonction of this hole?

Nav lights/switching power supplies by

Jim Weir..the articles in Kitplanes on subject didn't discuss noise
generation from the oscillator cycling output voltage to LEDs. Is
there a noise filter requirement to minimize disruption of radio
operation?

The Ten O'clock Pills by

2200
13 NOV 2008
Marks the end of my day.
0600 Marks its awakening but the pill regime is already six hours
old. Then 0900, 1200, 1500, 1800, 2100 and finally 2200, a Special
Dose of three drugs known to interact with pills taken at 2100. So we
give the 2100 pills a chance to dissipate before...

How does fuel (safely) get from the tank to the engine? by
Oliver Arend
It would seem logical to just draw gas from the lowest point of the
tank into a fuel line leading to the engine. But contrary to a car, an
airplane can experience negative gs, and especially in aerobatics, for
prolonged periods of time. So a pump connected to the lowest point of
the tank would only...

Kitplanes blog shuts down by
Jim Logajan
That "experiment" didn't seem to find the lift its builders expected:
http://www.kitplanesmag.blogspot.com/
Too bad - not sure if it was a lack of traffic (inadequate marketing) or
simply too much of a drain of their finite time relative to what they
thought they thought they were gaining.

Antenna under fabric in welded tube ship? by
Jon[_6_]
I would like to put internal nav and comm antennas in a series 5
kitfox, which has a welded tube frame. Could reasonable performance
be obtain with elements on the inside surface of the fabric, but out
side the frame? Seems to me this is essentially mounting the antenna
very close to a so-so...

prepreg fiberglass question by
Andrew Sarangan
I've heard of prepregs which have the resin and hardener separated
within the fabric, which can be activated by applying pressure with a
squeegee or similar tool. I searched the internet but I can only find
the standard premixed prepregs which need to be kept in a refrigerator
and cured at elevated...

Flap Controller: Does anyone make this? by
Gig 601Xl Builder
The 601XL I'm building is designed with a simple ON(mom)-off-On(mom)
flap switch. I was wondering if anyone makes a gizmo that would go into
the circuit that would allow a single momentary push position the flaps
into 10º then a second would move it to 20º and so on? Obviously the
same going...

I'm sitting here, counting my pills with one eye on the clock and I
get this message from a guy who is having some trouble with a piece of
aluminum. Flat piece. 60 inches wide, 180 inches long, .032 inches
thick. So I tell him what to do and he comes back saying he tried
that an it didn't...
